I'm completely stuck on what to get my mum for her birthday! It's on the 15th of this month, and i have noooooooo idea what to get. Also would want to get something from Shaunybump too... any ideas?

I did think of that, but wasn't sure about wrapping up something for Shaun that he'd wear, and giving it to her for her birthday... I did think of a photoframe or something from bump, like a 'i love nan/gran' one or something. Still need to get something from me though, stuuuuuuuuuck

Well it's difficult with my mum. She's not your average woman. My family own a small handyman construction business, and my mums one of the 'handy people' so she plasters, paints and decorates, tiles, bricklayering, so she gets home from work in her work clothes covered in paint and brick dust lol. But at the same time she's well into her perfumes and make ups and relaxing bubble baths, so it's like, difficult to buy for, especially the fact that she's never really home. Works 7 days a week, from about 6am until 7pm, poor thing!!!

I always have this problem with my grandma, shes really difficult to buy for so now i get a basket and fill it with little things i know she uses like something that smells nice (perfume or soap or something) some chocolates, a book, dried fruit. Tbh anything that she likes i just throw in a basket and put some tissue paper in the bottom and she loves it. So a pretty universal idea, just change what goes in it to suit your mums tastes. Could also put something in there from Shaun

maybe if she works so hard you could get her a day out to be pampered, or if you dont have the money for that make her a lil voucher that entitles her to a bubble bath with a glass of champagne, a back massage and pedicure/manicure all courtesy of you?..xx

Yeah i did think of that, but she never really gets a chance to pamper herself, she literally works so much just so we have enough money to get by ... suck really, they work like 17 hour days and we don't even have any money at the end of it after bills, food, rent... etc

I went with the idea of getting lots of little bits.
got some knee high suede boots (they're so nice, really want them myself hehe)
Nice big fluffy scarf
Fluggy boot slippers
Box of different 'charlie' body sprays
Big fluffy me to you bear (from Shauny bump... and a card "to nanny")
bath fizz balls
2011 personal planner diary
hand warmers (gloves you put in the microwave... my mum has really low blood pressure and sometimes it makes her hands turn to ice, so thought it was quite a nice idea)
urm urm urm... sure i got couple other things aswell, like a mum keyring and a book and that
got to wait til friday, i wanna give it to her now, i'm quite pleased with what i got )

That sounds lovely Glad you got something in the end. Im terrible at surprises and i always give my mum whatever i get her early!
