I was due on the 8th of November and had no signs of going into labour at all! On the 12th, my Braxton hicks started becoming painful at about 6pm, by 8pm I had lost my mucus plug and my contractions were lasting a minute and coming every 7-10 mins apart. At 4am I called the hospital and the midwife asked me to come in to see if I was progressing. I was only 2cm so she sent me home with some pain relief. I stayed home all day the next day, my contractions weren't getting any closer together and lasting a minute and a half now! By 4pm on the 13th I had had enough, so I went into the hospital and was still 2cm dilated! The midwife gave me some morphine and said it should stop the contractions and help me sleep, since I was still only in early labour. My contractions didn't stop or get any less painful! By 1am on the 14th I was 4cm dilated and my contractions were still irregular but very strong and lasting a minute and a half still! So my midwife offered me an epidural and suggested breaking my waters and putting me on the drip to bring my contractions along. The epidural was GREAT!... For an hour, until I started feeling my whole left side! It was horrible! I was so exhausted! They topped the epidural up and everything was numb again. The effect wasn't too great though, my eyes were rolling in the back of my head and I wasn't responding. All I remember was a room full of doctors and my family all crying. Because my little girl had also stopped responding, her heartbeat dropped dramatically until they couldn't find it anymore. They finally put the pin in her head and found her heartbeat, 34 beats per minute. I was rushed into theatre. Not long after, at 6:27am on the 14th of November, my beautiful little girl was here, she was absolutely perfect! I am so inlove and all the pain was definitely worth it. Weighting 7lb 9oz, 50cm. Her name is Ayla rose, she is so perfect
