My baby hates the car!

My daughter is almost 6 months old and she absolutely hates the car. She's pretty much hated it from day one. I have been doing tons of research. We tried toys, music, switching her from the carrier to a convertible car seat, switching sides in the car, putting our 2 year old next to her so she can see someone, the list goes on. The only thing we have not done (and will not do) is face her forward.

It seems like nothing helps her. It's frustrating for me when I'm driving, but it also hurts my heart that she is is so upset. More than anything, I just want to make her comfortable.

If you have any suggestions, please help! I'm so frustrated.

Have you tried white noise? You can put it on an app on your phone. That's the only other thing I can think of.

My daughter is exactly the same. The only thing that helps sometimes is white noise as pp mentioned. It's heartbreaking isn't it? I have tried everything but forward facing too. I've been told it's something that she will grow out of eventually!

My son is the same. I dread going anywhere and nothing has helped. We spent $300 dollars on a convertible car seat and he still screams. I feel like I'm doing "cry it out" every time we go somewhere and then he is so upset once we're there.

Do you have one of those big mirrors you can strap to the headrest? My LO likes looking at himself in ours.

Thanks so much for the support. White noise helps sometimes, but it usually only works for a few minutes and then she's screaming again. We do have a mirror on the headrest and that doesn't seem to help either

I feel like people going through this need a support group or something! It's seriously awful.

We are going out of town next weekend and I'm so nervous about it. My husband suggested strapping our ipad to the headrest and putting on a movie for her. We'll see if it works. I wasn't sure if there was something I was missing.
