Okay so this was my first doctors appointment about TTC :) It went well,

She started me on Clomid 50mg days 3-7, she gave me some bloodwork tests and sent for my DH to have a SA (HES NOT WANTING TO DO IT, HES SHY ) poor thing hahaha

Ill go back on cd21 for tests to see if everything looks good

In may if nothing has happened yet, which im sure it will :happydance: ill go in to meet and see what the SA looks like

I was going to go for a HSG but Im in North Carolina and my health Insurance doesnt cover it, the cost is $1200.00, so its now on the bottom of the list!!

Im staying positive! :winkwink:

That's great!

Can I ask why you are on clomid already if she's only now beginning to run tests on you? It just seems odd that she would do that without trying to figure out what the matter might be... (not trying to be rude! Perhaps I am just old fashioned with it comes to medication :) )

I know SA's aren't "fun," but try to get him to see it from a medical perspective. You can save yourself a lot of money, appointments, and tests if the problem ends up being with him.

You sound really positive :) Good luck!

Glad to hear that the appointment went well & that your Doctor is getting moving on testing & stuff! Really hope Clomid works for you & that you will be showing us a BFP soon xxx

HAHA sorry I wrote it wrong, yesterday was my first visit she ran some blood work and started me on the clomid, on D21 ill come in for more blood and 2 weeks later ill go into see what it looked like for this month!

To answer the woman asking why the doctors gave you clomid first. Some doctors just use it as the first step after 1 year ttc before knowing is someone doesnt ovulate on their own. Its the easiest, and cheapest fertility treatment. Other doctors take it more seriously, and almost refuse to give the drug out without doing every test under the sun. Clomid is mostly used for women who have no ovulation, or very weak ovulation, and can also regulate ovulation for women who ovulate much later in their cycle.
But its wonderful you have such a supportive doctor, sometimes its hard to find one that truely understands the effects of ttc. Good luck hun! Clomid is wonderful for some people, gave my mother me and my twin sister, and one of my good friends suffereing with pcos a healthy baby boy after 2 years struggling to concieve.

I was in a similar situation, almost exactly. TTC one year, went to Dr., took clomid day 5-9, did the HSG, bloods came back fine, and I got my BFP 14 DPO.

My HSG was not covered either and was approx $1000. We decided it was worth it to do and paid out of pocket. Turns out, a tube had partial blockage and the HSG dye cleared it right up.

So I think it was a mixture of the HSG and the clomid that did it for us.

Good luck!
