My dog jumped out the window *small update*

So glad it's just sprains. Lots of cuddles for her.

And at least the bill wasn't as much as you's were expecting.

We got out pup and got him neutered. Normally a male is around £90!! No ours was just under £300 due to everything being in the wrong place so know the feeling of vets bills

Unbelievable! I've been waiting for your updates all day and I'm so happy for you and the pooch! What an ordeal, but at least now you can all relax...:hugs:

bviously shes worth it, shes like a family member, I just wish dogs healthcare were free in Canada too! Or that I was back in Thailand and this would cost under $50 lol.

Has anyone here had a dog whose leg broke? I'm looking for a range on how much it will cost.

Thanks soo much

My dog! He had a broke growth plate and it was $950 to get it pinned up *surgery* and he was good after that.. He had to wear the lampshade of shame though and he has a big scar.

I am honestly just soooooooo relieved! We would have paid it, shes family to us, but it would have been a big blow financially and luckily his tax return covered the whole thing and theres still enough to make atleast a $300 payment on his line of credit so atleast we wont have to pay as much interest :)

I really appreciate you ladies, you helped me sooo much! And I'm still very glad you pushed me to bring her to the vet :)

We have moved the bed away from the window and locked the window to avoid this kind of incident again

We just walked in from the vets and got some great news - her paws arent fractured at all, she just has really really bad sprains, possibly the worst theyve seen. Theres still a possibility she may need surgery for her tendons because they stretched so far but theyre giving her a week to start walking. They gave us anti inflammatory medication and pain medication and told us to do cold compresses and not let her run or go hard on them for atleast 2 weeks. The vet was shocked and had to get 2 other vets to look and make sure she wasnt missing anything. Everyone at the office loved her and couldnt believe what a great dog she was or how well she was handling things.
We have to sling her to let her use the bathroom so hopefully we dont have any issues with that. The vet was very hopeful though and said this was the best POSSIBLE scenario - when we initially went she didnt even give this as an option, she had said best case scenario was atleast her left paw was fractured but would only need a cast a no surgery so we were very pleasantly surprised. Instead of it costing $3000 plus the $600 we paid earlier today the whole thing only cost $690. We didnt want to bring her just for a sprain but I'm glad we did because now we know what to watch for and how best to care for her and shes got pain medication so she can relax more.

So glad it wasn't a worst case scenario. I hope your dog will recover quickly. I know how much we can love those furry things.

oh I'm SOOO happy to hear your pup only has a sprain!!! I hope she heals fast, and she is back to her normal self soon! HUGS!

Thank you! And the vets name was Dr Carolyn Martin, I would seriously recommend her, she was amazing!
