My first time and its positive.

I have regular 28 day cycles an usually ovulate (I think, never tested before today) around day 12-14.. But, I had the copper IUD and had it removed just before my last period which was February 3rd because it was causing ovarian cysts . Anyway, my period was extra long (8-9 days) and what im getting at is I had a positive OPK today cycle day 18 but had EWCM on day 16. What does this mean?? I thought I should have ovulated around the time I had EWCM. Why would I get a positive today? It's a very very dark positive line! Can generic brand tests be false??

Also, if I ovulated later than usual, does this mean my luteal phase is too short?

the first cycle after taking out your iud may be wonky. usually if you ovulate later than usual that your lp will stay approx sam length so your af will arrive later.
