I loved Canyon(kinda similar) for a middle name for DS2, but DH wasn't keen xx

Lol, at least he's interested in names, I think that's awesome. If you don't like any of his ideas...you could always push the history angle. Find someone from history he admires.

As for it being last-namey, it could be. I have found that I love last names as first names during this pregnancy and that's what most of my suggestions are.
