My maternity pay...help!

Hi, I've been on maternity leave since may, I received 6 weeks at full pay n then 2 months at around £120 per week n past 2 months I've been getting £97 per week. When I questioned it they've tried to fob me off by sayi g because I was in hospital when I turned 15 weeks n was recieving sick pay my wages are goin on that!....am I to believe this?? I expected £120 per week from week 6 to week 39!

Poor you, I cant remember what the laws are but I do seem to remember somthing about pay being based on what you earnt in the last '?' of time. Google it and that should help or ask for them to send you a copy of their maternity rules etc. Don't get in too much of a panic because if they are wrong then they will pay you back. I took a lot of time off sick but it didnt affect me as I was always paid for sickness anyway so it never affected my salary. x

your qualifying weeks are the saturday before you turned 25 weeks and then 8 vweeks before that so around when you where 17 weeks. thats the period they use to work out what you get smp wise. however im sure its an average they pay you. so you should receive the same amount after the 1st 6 weeks
