I wanted to start a thread for the books I have read and want to read.
I read a variety of genre, sometimes simple books, teenage fiction (I have a rapidly growing daughter so I find them handy in a way) classic novel (P&P, Jane Eyre, Great Expect etc) and also like SAS/Army reads. And lets throw in some Biographies and girlie reads too. So yes, I like to try all types of books/authors.
Not sure its worth keeping a count of how many I read from now until 2012. But I will try to write a little detail of each.
I recently finished " twelve babies on a bike" by Doris Dunn. It is about a student midwife just after ww2 in london. It tracks her true story of how she graduates by helping women in difficult situations give birth.
I liked the diary style layout and the situations of the births, truly each birth is different. Reading the accounts from 1950's was interesting too, not something I had read before.
I have on hold "the book thief" by Markus Zusak, but I've been waiting for that for a while now. So will be starting Phillipa Gregory's The White Queen later on today.
My little local library isnt very well stocked So alot of items I reserve and have to wait for. I love books, but have not the funds or the room to get them and keep them.
