So a while back, Violet had a split nail. Just the edge of it split off. As a result, a portion started growing off in the wrong direction. I didn't know what to do about it and decided to see if it would resolve on its own. When the portion of sideways nail fell off, I had assumed it did resolve itself. However, I have looked at it recently and the site where it fell off has expanded... I think the finger is trying to grow fingernail in that spot, but it's growing completely wrong. It doesn't even look like fingernail. I can't describe it and I can't take a picture of it right now. Anyway, we're going to call her doctor and also see if we can stop in an Urgent Care sort of place on our way home (we're 3.5 hours from home right now because of Christmas). I'm thinking it's going to require surgery to fix. Have any of you had kids with nail issues that needed medical attention? What was your experience?
