Has anyone here ever participated in NaNoWriMo? Do you plan on participating this year?

I attempted it once a few years ago, but I gave up. I must be crazy to consider it again while chasing a toddler!!

i've always wanted to write a novel! I actually started more than once in the last 15 years.
As a child between the ages of 9 and 11 I wrote several story books about a girl called Molly! And one about a girl called goldispots. Teacher used to read them to the class at story time.

I joined the local NaNoWriMo group on Facebook. They meet at a really cool coffee shop in the fall. Looking forward to it!

I've started writing now - in November, I'm going to be 100 months pregnant and celebrating Thanksgiving and chasing a toddler. Shhh don't tell everyone I'm cheating I've written over 1,200 words so far. It's not so much for Nano as it is for myself.

I'm aiming for at least a 50K word count. No writing today, been kind of busy.

This sounds like exactly what I need to get the writing flowing. I don't really have a goal to produce a novel, but more to just get writing.

And thanks, hakuna! I do write all the time, but never just for myself, you know? Those ideas never get any time or attention after the initial frenzied brainstorming session. I'd like to move beyond that.
