Hi Ladies

I was wondering if anyone has been to Tenerife and could tell me do they sell Pampers nappies(or equivalent) and decent baby food out there? - she has Plum/Ellas/Heinz etc. Have just realised how much of both am going to need and won't leave much room in suitcase if need to take it all with me.

Also what water will LO drink out there? Will I boil it or are certain bottled waters ok?

Thank you

We went to fuerteventura in feb. I got nappies out there. They sell huggies/pampers. But there own makes are just as good. Baby food is easy enough to buy. The do a whole load of variety. And i just used normal bottled water for Archies bottles. Is lo bottle fed? If so they do Aptamil and sma (sma is called something else though). I know this isnt to do with tenerife, but they sell the same things. My friend went to tenerife, and i asked him to pick a few bits up for me, he managed to :). One thing id recommend taking, is swimming nappies.. .they are rediculously priced over there!! xx

In Spain, Papers are branded as Dodot. You'll probably find Pampers but Dodot are cheaper in the superarkets.

use spring water not mineral water and boil it

I took Nappies with me cos they're much more expensive over there, I had plenty of luggage allowance to do that though. Theyre are plenty of shops selling uk recognised brands but expect to pay much more for them. My baby is bf so no experience with baby foods, I'm also not sure about water, I personally think you t better boiling rather than using bottled though.

theres certain bottled water that you cant use thats all I know something to do with whats in it
x

Buy the lowest sodium water you can find to boil for bottles. Quite a few say they are good for babies on the label. Dodot is pampers but they are expensive. I found very few baby foods, I'd take pouches in your luggage or make some out there if you can

how many pouches do you go through a day could you not put them in carrier bag and be the last thing in the case x

I'd take them with u if possible i bought them over ther and they were so expensive! Pampers were 11euros for a small pack of 15 or so! Even ther own ones were 7 euros for 10! Swim nappies were even worse! U could get jars in some places bit again were really expensive x

I was going to use pouches for most meals really apart from breakfast - we're in a hotel and I'm not sure about hotel food - she still has it pretty pureed too.

Thanks everyone, will def boil water and take swim nappies and then take as many pouches and pampers as possible as sounds like could be pretty pricey otherwise.

Flipping hec, I'm def taking our own thats extortionate!!

Just a thought, there's usually a boots in the departure lounge, perhaps ring and see if they sell baby bits, that way you could carry on as hand luggage.
