Im hoping not to need this next cycle as only 5dpo however if I need to start something early in cycle want to be prepared!

I ovulate late in my cycle around day 29 however I would like to ovulate earlier & shorten my long cycles what do you recommend?

Thanks.

I took black cohosh and it brought forward my ovulation from day 18 to day 13 approx. I also think soy isoflavones have the same effect

Thank you, where do you get these from? I'm in the UK.

Soy isoflavones from tesco stores :)

Black cohosh from Holland and Barrett

I also read that vitex has worked too....I looked that up, from Amazon. However they recommend don't take vitex and soy together.

I read up about them by googling:happydance:

I have read of women who drank a glass of grapefruit juice every morning and it moved up their ovulation. I ovulate early when drinking the super green smoothies but it also shortened my LP by a few days.

Great thank you I will have a read up on them & decide which one to go for.

If you already ovulate on your own every cycle, vitex has a good chance to trigger it earlier. Even soy isoflavones do the same job of moving Ovulation up without side effects when taken in recommended dosage. B6, baby aspirin, pineapple, folic acid, red raspberry, and green tea have all been used to either strengthen ovulation or help with implantation.

Take vitamin D3. Vitamin D 3 is a prohormone. If your deficient it could affect your cycles and fertility.

If you google soy isoflavones, a lot of when are getting BFP's from it, I started this cycle. So many success stories its sort of mind blowing lol

I think I'm going to try soy isoflavones next cycle too. Any advice on how much and when to take it? I've seen so many different levels and I think I want to start out small.

I would start out with a very low dose of it till you know how it affects your ovulation, there are alot of success storys online of soy BFPs. but I have also seen alot of cases of delayed or no ovulation after soy and my ovulation was very delayed the 3 cycles I tried soy. I usually always ovulate CD 12-14 after taking soy I ovulated CD 20.

Thanks Lisa! I think I may start with 80mg or so at first. Just waiting on AF to show now. Had a temp drop this morning so I figured she'd be here by now...

I just found a sealed tub of vitex I forgot I had as we put ttc off! I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18 I have regular ish cycles but anything 36-38 with a few longer/shorter one every now & then. What are the pro/con vitex/soy ? My main aim is to bring my ovulation forward as currently is always around cd 29!

I would trust vitex more then soy , have you thought about trying Maca?

Benefits of Maca

Maca has gained a reputation for helping balance hormones and reverse hypothyroidism. It is an endocrine adaptogen, meaning that it does not contain any hormones, but rather it contains the nutrients necessary to support normal hormone production.

Maca has also been used as a way to increase fertility (and I can vouch for this personally!). It is naturally “high in minerals (calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc), sterols (6 found), up to 20 essential fatty acids, lipids, fiber, carbohydrates, protein, and amino acids.”

Maca is often recommended to those with adrenal fatigue as it nourishes them and reduces stress hormones. It’s especially known for its benefit in balancing hormones. According to this article:

“Maca root helps balance our hormones and due to an over abundance of environmental estrogens, most people’s hormones are a bit out of whack. Maca stimulates and nourishes the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which are the “master glands” of the body. These glands actually regulate the other glands, so when in balance they can bring balance to the adrenal, thyroid, pancreas, ovarian and testicular glands.

Maca root has been shown to be beneficial for all sorts of hormonal problems including PMS, menopause, and hot flashes. Maca’s also a fertility enhancer and is best known for improving libido and sexual function, especially in men. For this reason, it’s earned the nickname “nature’s Viagra.””

I have personally seen many cases of couples adding Maca to their daily regimen and conceiving easily, even after struggling with infertility. (Note: It should not be consumed during pregnancy!)

Here is more information about the ways Maca is used to promote fertility and this post talks about its role in balancing hormones.

How to Take Maca

As Maca is a root vegetable in the Radish family, it can safely be taken in small amounts daily. It is available in powder form (least expensive option) or in capsules (slightly more expensive).

The powder can be mixed into smoothies or coffee, or capsules can be easily swallowed.

Lisap - thank you for that I hadn't heard of that before but does sound more like what I'm looking for, I really don't want to mess my cycles up even more as it's hard enough not ovulating until cd29 I don't want to delay it further. Will certainly look into this 😀

Your welcome!. Google search maca BFP there are tons of success storys. Its also good for men.

Make sure you only take soy for 5 days at beginning of cycle...typically day 2-6 or 3-7 is common

Hi Mummy! We talked on another thread and are in same boat! :) I just wanted to let you know still no AF for me and am 3 days late - all BFNs.. but first month on progesterone cream so that could be why AF delayed. BUT I just bought Vitex today. I am going to take B-6 and B-complex and Vitex next cycle to help move up my ovulation and lengthen luteal phase! I just hope AF (or of course a BFP) show up soon! Ugh!

Hello
Cd40 here but 10dpo BFN felt like AF was on her way yesterday but still nothing it's so hard waiting so late to ovulate & then AF due so soon after. I want to know either way so I can move on to the next cycle if need be.

I'm really torn on if to start taking something this cycle or not I'm so worried about messing it up even more. I actually already have a sealed tub of vitex but it seemed to make my period extra light last time & I didn't even take it for a month so no idea if it would of helped me or not!

Fingers crossed you get that BFP!

:dust:

Thanks for all your help on this ladies but I won't be needing it as just got my BFP today!!

Thank you!
