I've had nausea on and off every day since week 6. When week 11 started a few days ago, it seemed like it was getting a tiny bit better, but today I feel worse than before. Even eating little meals does not help the nausea for long (as it used to). Is this normal? I'd thought the nausea was supposed to go away towards the end of the first trimester, not get worse.

Mines got worse! It sometimes lasts the whole pregnancy but on average up to 16 weeks

My friend felt pretty decent during the first tri, and then was really sick all during the second trimester. I had never heard of that happening before, but every pregnancy is so different! I hope this is just a fluke, though, and you start feeling better!

I hope its normal b/c it has happend to me to. I had to break down and get zorfran and it has helped alot.

Generally speaking your hCG levels peak at 10-12 weeks, although for some women they peak a bit later or earlier. After that they start to slowly decrease to a degree, which is why some women will start to feel better after the peak and subsequent drop in hCG levels. However, for some women the levels may peak and then never drop much. Even more so the 9-12 week average hCG levels can be anywhere from 25,700-288,000mIU/ml, which is a huge range and in theory really high numbers may make a woman more sick, or she may just be more sensitive. Every pregnancy is so different too. With both of my boys if I had ms I don't remember it, so I don't think I ever did. With this one it's been horrible to where I can't function most of the time without Zofran.

In short, yes it's very normal to not start feeling sick until later in pregnancy. There is nothing wrong with requesting anti-nausea meds for ms. There's no reason to be miserable when you don't have to. Zofran hasn't been a cure all magic pill for me like some women, but it does usually help quite a bit. Hang in there! Hope you start feeling better soon!

I had really bad nausea till about 5 months with my first.

Mine got worse at 11 weeks. During week 17 I had a couple good days and it now seems to be decreasing a bit but still there and noticeable.

Just all that's been said here really - it varies from woman to woman and isn't anything to worry about (even though its pretty miserable!) x

YES! Mine is doing the same thing! Last pregnancy I was SUPER sick until 15 weeks then nothing. It was worse at the beginning and got better and better. This time just mildly sick and the past few days aweful, throwing up and everything!

Just goes to show every pregnancy is different!

Add me to the list! I thought I was golden, heading toward the end of the first trimester. Now, it is worse than ever! Today, knock on wood, I am feeling better though.

Its normal, all pregnancies are different. you could have no nausea the whole way through and only get it in the last few weeks.
X
