Is it normal that I feel so sick all the time. I am about 6 weeks in. Certain foods just make me feel so nauseous. My husband is getting irritated (although he tries not to show it). I'm getting irritated with it too. One minute I fancy something particular to eat, but after its made and a few mouthfuls in to it I feel sick and can't eat anymore. Then I'll start picking on things throughout the evening.

Things I used to love like fish, make me feel totally sick. Just the thought of it! I had to send my husband out to tesco today because the only food that didn't make me feel sick (cold ham and french bread) we didn't have in the house! My husband said, "Are you sure that's what you want!" - My friends said that they didn't feel this way to much further on in their pregnancy?

It is very normal!

I don't experience morning sickness and never have, but food aversions I do experience. A number of times last week I was hungry and since I was out, bought something to eat. When I got home and took a bite, I got turned off.

Hopefully this eases for you soon!

Very normal. From weeks 5 1/2 to week 9 my poor DH was having to eat hamburger meat or some form of pasta pretty much every night because of my nausea.

Thanks for the help! I'm pleased to know its not just me then. I think its harder for me to accept because I have always loved my food. I am the most unfussy eater imaginable!

I am a bit worried that the thought of protein makes me feel ill. My husband has told me to try and eat protein wherever possible - its just carboydrates that I crave. I am trying to eat ham and occassionally chicken, when it doesn't make me feel sick. Fish and Quorn make me feel totaly ill!

hun dont worry about the protein, ,my husband drove me bananas about it and its fine esp early on eat what u can and what u like an dont worry about the rest i had morning sickness really bad til about 15 wks , its very very annoying and hard to cope with, it put a lot of stress on us but thats just the way it is.
your baby doesnt need much in the beginning, its very tiny so dont worry. also if u take your vitamins ull be fine.

Totally normal. I am still being very fussy about eating. Sometimes something sounds sooo goood, and other times, nothing sounds good. Just tell your DH to be patient, the nausea will go away, and it will get better. And you can alway do what I do when my DH is annoying me about some pregnancy side affect. I tell him "well I am building a baby for you!!!'

yeah... it's feeding off it's own little yolk sac for the first 8 weeks or so, and babe will always get what it needs, even at your expense if you aren't eating much... just make sure you eat little and often, keep up the fluids, and take a pregnancy vitamin so that even if you are worried your diet isn't so good at the mo, you are geting everything you need.
Congrats, and have a good one xxx

I'm 6 weeks as well and I feel the same. I thought I was lucky and only got morning sickness at 8 weeks - I got it at 4 weeks (I was 4 weeks earlier than I thought!). I just feel sick in general, foods don't set it off I'll just be walking around and want to be sick and I'm sick alot when I wake up :(.

My Dad got mad at me the other day because I made him buy me a chicken tikka butty and then onto the second butty I didn't want it because it made me feel sick. Then he said I'm throwing money away lol.

I hope both our sickness' goes soon enough ;).

Like someone else said eating smaller meals more often will help a great deal with the nausea, it always seems to get worse when you go a long time without eating. Honestly I wouldn't worry about not getting enough nutrients/proteins at this time, it's more important that you find something you can eat. There is time later in your pregnancy to eat healthy and right now your body should have enough stored for a healthy pregnancy. Just make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins!

Totally normal!! :D
I cant stand any food right now!.
Its horrible!.
But it'll get better!.
xx

I had queasiness all the time to start with but found eating little and often helped. Eating fairly plain foods helped most.

I was the same, if i thought of something i wanted to eat i had to have it asap or i would "go off" the idea and feel sick. The smell of frying food makes me feel nauseous still.

It's totally normal. My first trimester I felt queasy (nausea) all the time. Only fast food sounded good to me (only certain things though). Sometimes, I just had a snack for dinner. Sprite was my best friend in my 1st trimester, it calmed my belly. Just eat what you can, when you can. Try to drink plenty of water. Your OH will learn that your body is going through major changes and that he needs to be patient. My hubby learned that after awhile, now he always asks me if I want anything and he'll go get it (I like that). Good luck hun and you should feel better by the 2nd trimester at least. By the way, congrats.
