Hi all,

So we're having a baby boy and he's due in December. My husband and I are both Indian, so it is important to us to have an Indian name...but a lot of the Indian boy names we know are just not for us. We've come up with a few possibilities for ones that are more unique and hopefully easy to pronounce. Would love your honest thoughts on these. We've only shared them with family, who will say they love whatever we choose, and we don't want to share them with friends...so your opinions are all we've got!

Enan (pronounced Eeenan, similar to Ian) - means the Sun

Cader - (pronounced the way it looks) - means the summit of the Himalayas (traditionally spelled Kedar, but we'd probably switch it up)

Kasin - (pronounced case-in) - means radiant with light

New addition!

Cadem (pronounced cay-dum) - sacred tree in Hindu mythology

Thanks ladies! Honestly, we're super attached to Enan...the name has just stuck with us and once that happens it is so hard to shake it off. Our problem is that Enan looks weird when written and it doesn't sound as strong/masculine as Cader or Kasin. Names are so hard!

Ah! We have a new possibility:

Cadem (pronounced Cay-dum) - means a sacred tree in Hindu mythology, spring, fragrant breeze

I like Cadem best (and the meaning!) - you have a few nice choices though!

Am loving Cadem & Kasin the most I think :D They're all nice names though! x

Yay! A vote for Enan! I'm getting excited about Cadem too though...maybe we FINALLY found something other than Enan that we can get attached to.

I like em all, I like different names and also names that reflect ancestry etc xx

I'd avoid Kasin as it makes me think casein (as in the milk protein)

I like Cader!

Jumpingin, that's a great point about Kasin. I would never have thought of that but something was definitely bugging me about the name. Thanks!

I vote for Cader -very Masculine
Enan is a good option as well , are there any variants to it ?

I am impressed with your choices because I actually like them all! I think if I had to choose, I would pick Enan.

I LOVE Enan! I love the way it rolls off my tongue. It's a fantastic name.

Enan and Cadem are really nice. Kasin made me think of the milk protein too!
