I am going through my 3rd m/c right now and I'm so discouraged. Please tell me that there are plenty out there who are my age (just turned 40) and have been through this with a good out come. I have 4 children and never had a m/c until 2.5 yrs. after my last baby was born. Two yrs. after that I had another m/c and now two yrs. later, another m/c. Anyone else close to my age had several children with no m/c's then all the sudden start loosing every pregnanacy but then get one that stuck?

I'm so very sorry to hear of your losses. Although I don't have a similar experience, I did want to offer you encouragement. I'm 41 and am having a very uneventful pregnancy this go-round. My husband and I have 3 children (16, 15, and 12). So, it has been a REALLY long time since I was pregnant. I did suffer 1 miscarriage between 1st and 2nd son, and 3rd pregnancy was a very difficult pregnancy due to a clotting disorder. Recurrent miscarriage can be a symptom of clotting issues---I was diagnosed with antiphosphilipid antibody syndrome with my 3rd son. During this pregnancy, I have taken a baby aspirin daily as a precaution, but have not been diagnosed with APS again. It may be worth looking into since you aren't having difficulties getting pregnant.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Hi,

I'm 44 and on the countdown to baby no.1, before that I had a mc in August 2009 and two possible chemicals, so please don't give up hope!

Your body can change alot in a few years, so something that wasn't a major issue at 30 might be the reason for a problem at 40. In my case, we discovered that I had underactive thyroid and I also took metformin for pCOS, once that medication was all adjusted, I got pregnant and am now hoping to have baby towards the end of February. I would ask your GP to run the routine blood tests (thyroid, iron, etc), also, take a good look at your overall health -- could you lose weight? (I did from a BMI of 40 (yes, I know....) to a BMI of 29/30), try and incorporate some gentle excerise, try to eat a little healthier and I also did acupuncture for pre-IVF, but got pregnant naturally! Oh, and I quit smoking (quit when I was pregnant before, but depressed at mc and started again)....I didn't go crazy with loads of exercise, no drinking, etc., but generally, more healthy....

In fact, I am healthier now at 44 than I was at 34, so in my case, the 'golden oldie' got lucky, so there is no reason why you can't have another baby, but take care of yourself regardless....any loss is hard

best wishes

I have 3 kids 18, 16 and 8. I had a miscarriage before I had my youngest, and I've had 3 miscarriages in the last 3 years (at 6 weeks, 12 weeks and 19 weeks), so fingers crossed for this one.

Sometimes there isn't anything you can do. My consultant said she didn't think there was any reason why I couldn't go on to have a healthy baby, so hopefully I will, and hopefully so will you.:hugs:

hi im so sorry for your losses. im 39 this year . and have 3 kids 21 17 and 16. and had 4mmc after them . and im now 27 weeks preg . i had all the tests done and nothing was wrong. my consultant just put it down to bad luck (hated when he said that) and there was no reason for me not to have a healthy pregnancy well here i am now 27 weeks and going ok so far :flower:
