I know we drive ourselves crazy with HCG numbers...my SIL had hers drawn at 5 weeks and it was 1,650 (mine was 1,660 at 5 weeks, with twins) and then two days later hers were only 1,780. The doc thinks she's miscarrying but I don't think her numbers would have gone up if she was and I read online that the farther you get the slower your numbers double...it can take up to 96 hours for them to double! That's why my doc didn't draw any more after 5 weeks. She's kind of freaking out, but I honestly feel like it's going to be okay. She has a history of m/c's but the numbers didn't get above 100 with those babies. She's not bleeding, cramping or anything.

Can anyone help me provide hope with your successful pregnancy with similar situations? What were your HCG numbers?

Can't help much w the number as mine was 18,762 at 4w6d so doctor didn't do anymore, but I know that once number gets to 1,200 it can take 72-96 hours to double.

It is standard that drs expect numbers to ALMOST double in 48 hours... But in fact it has been scientifically proven that it can be anything from 36-72 hours. In some cases a few more.

My numbers didn't double quite enough in 36 hours (3 days) at 5 weeks so the nurse went about telling me that she was disappointed and concerned but won't do any more. thanks for that!

I am now nearly 14 weeks with a healthy baby. Your sister has NOT had any bleeding... I have so that goes to show that numbers are a load of bull!

When I miscarried last year my numbers went from 600 to 680 in 2 days, then to 69 in 1 week. That's a miscarrying statistic. 80 numbers in 2 days. Your sister had 120, which definitely could be better but it's a jump in the right direction. Mine was too but not enough (plus a scan confirmed it).

Give her the best of luck from me and assure her that everything will be fine.ndont listen to the drs or nurses, I didn't and I'm healthily pregnant.

Thank you girls, I hope it is all ok! Congrats on your pregnancies!

Just an update, my SIL had a another hcg drawn like 6 days later and it had gone from 1780 to 2700 so they were sure she was losing it, but she had an ultrasound todayand baby is healthy!.hr was 129bpm, due date is January 20, 2015 :)
