New and looking for some advice :)

My boyfriend and I have decided to try and conceive, and so I was wondering if there was any advice out here to help us out (ie: sex positions, foods, hormone enhancers, signs of ovulation, etc). This is definitely something new to the both us and we have been researching like madmen online for tips and whatnot. I don't feel too comfortable with trusting every site I go to and figured we should try to speak with real people who have actual knowledge and first hand experiences. I'm planning on staying on this site for quite sometime and so it would be nice to get to know some people also

Chart your BBT (Basal Body Temp), CM (Cervical Mucous), and CP (Cervical Position). It's helped me a LOT. Check out my FF page at Fertility Friend to see what I'm talking about and then sign up. A lot of ladies on here use the site. The only thing you need is a BBT thermometer (you can pick one up at Walgreens). If you're really into finding EVERY possible sign, you could pick up a CBFM (Clear Blue Fertility Monitor). They're pricey- but I've heard really good things. I'll probably buy one if I'm still TTC in a few months. Good luck and lots of to you!

Oh, and they have online lessons on the FF site telling you all about CM, CP, BBT, etc, etc, etc. I highly recommend reading through them all and taking their quizzes at the end of each lesson!

Thank you tons, I have been on it trying to take it all in!! There are so many links and sooo much information! I feel like such a 'tard for not knowing any of it lol. My best suggestion... pick up "What to Expect Before You're Expecting". It is a big help, sheds light on the truths & myths of TTC methods, and has guy-friendly sections for him to read. It even has wonderful charts in the back for you to use in your efforts.

Second suggestion, go see your doctor or OB/GYN to discuss a game plan.

Get a copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It will tell you 99.99% of what you need to know about your cycles and how to chart your BBT to pinpoint ovulation.
