New Here Due March 2014

Hi Ladies, I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our surprise baby. I turned 40 the last week of June and got pg shortly after. I'll stillbe 40 when the baby is born.

I'm feeling fine other than the need to nap every day! I haven't been tot he drs as they don't want to see me until 9/17. No call in apt until 9/3. Is that normal for the AMA group? I keep thinking I should go in for at least a Doppler heartbeat check. So nervous and worried that there isn't one!

Congrats! I'm starting on my 10th week and I will be almost 45 when my baby is due! Welcome!

Congrats! I am 39 and they would have normally seen me at 8 weeks which is pretty standard around here, but since I had two mc's previously the doc saw me right away to double check betas and progesterone and then right at 6 weeks to get a heartbeat. I was nervous and paranoid so I while medically they could have justified the blood monitoring I think the 6 week scan was to keep from from going crazy.

Welcome and congrats!! My doc got me in right away at around 7 weeks, but I think that was because I had had a loss in February, so they did an early ultrasound to confirm a heartbeat. I think if you called and told them you were nervous/anxious etc, they would get you in for at least an early ultrasound, I know mine would! Often, they won't try to find a hb with a doppler til after 11 or 12 weeks, as it is often to early to find it. So before that, an US is the only way. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

I am also due in March 2014 I am now almost 12 weeks. I was seen early just to confirm the pregnancy and then an ultrasound to make sure. I am not sure what is normal in other locations. If you are really nervous I would ask dr to please see you just to hear a heartbeat and calm your nerves.
