(NEW TEST P.2) Blue dye tests - evap line or positive? Advice so greatly appreciated!

I have one pink dye test that I think I'm going to wait until Thursday to take so I can stop driving myself crazy trying to find lines and just find out for sure!

I don't understand why I've gotten another evap :nope:

Did you go the doctor? How did it go?

I wouldn't try to get an ultrasound yet since they can be expensive. I would just make sure to get bloodwork done. It's a sure way to know 100% if you're pregnant or not.

I think they should take all blue dye tests off the market, because that has to get so many people's hopes up! I've even found an article on a website that said specifically "If a colored line (blue or pink) shows up before ten minutes, then it's a positive. If a colorless line shows up after the ten minutes, then it's an evap line." So if women are getting evaps within the time frame, they should not be selling those tests! It has me convinced that I'm pregnant. So frustrating!

Stuckinoki, thanks for letting me know about the digitals. I don't know why I thought they were less sensitive? I guess because with the +- tests you can look for something faint, but with digitals it doesn't say "Kinda Pregnant" lol. I have started my pills again and just went for a blood test this morning. Should get results by Wednesday.

Aspe, I know exactly what you're going through. My last period was June 30, and I am now 9 days overdue for my next. I've taken tons of tests, and only one came out looking positive. It showed up about 30 seconds after peeing on it. Then the next day and today I get all negatives. What did your positives look like? What type of test was it? You should ask for a blood test, especially since you're so late for your period. I have one HPT left and I'm going to wait 3 days and take it on Thursday morning, so by then if it's negative I'll be pretty positive that my BFP was an evap. Still no explanation for the missed period though, oh well.

How did your appointment go?

My appointment went okay, but I was a little frustrated when I left. My OBGyn is the kind of doctor that has gotten so popular that she always seems rushed and like she has very little time for you. I told her what was going on, that I was 18 days late and no period and was very nauseas and cramping but had all negative tests. I told her that I read that a lot of women don't test positive until very late and I was surprised that it was so common and she basically just smiled and told me that it isn't. She gave me a prescript for a blood test and then walked out the door before I could even remember to tell her all of my symptoms and concerns. I still have yet to hear the results of the blood tes. I was glad that she had them do a quantitative blood test though since that will tell exactly how much HCG is in my system instead of just saying positive or negative.

I've taken an HPT since then, yesterday morning, and it was negative. I'm now exactly 3 weeks late, though, and I need to know soon because I'm scheduled to have a nerve block and xrays soon and I don't want to get them done if I'm pregnant. This is one of the most stressful things I've been through, it's so frustrating not knowing what's wrong with your body!

I'm having major symptoms lately:
-All my pants and leggings are too tight in the stomach and I can't handle the pressure from them or anything even slightly heavy on my stomach
-My stomach is big starting from much lower, unlike a regular belly roll, but like my stomach was when I was pregnant with my daughter. And it's bigger than it's ever been since I was pregnant before.
-I'm nauseas every single day, especially today it was so bad it felt like an excruciating hangover
-I have stomach cramps and gurgling and what feels like bubbles in my stomach
-My nipples hurt to touch
-I've been having bad lower back pain
-Super tired lately
-Extremely moody. I cry and snap at people at the drop of a hat
-I feel nauseas from smells
-Serious headaches that almost feel like migraines
-Breaking out much, much worse than normal
-EXTREMELY clumsy this past month
-I had light spotting a few days before i was supposed to start my period. Couldn't that be implantation bleeding?
-Constipated
-Hair shedding (not sure if this is a pregnancy symptom but it's shedding MUCH more than usual this past month)

Aspe, any word on your situation? Did you get a blood test done?

Really? My mother has hypothyroidism. What symptoms do I have that sound like it could be related? Does it also cause you to miss your period?

Yes honey. Every person is different but your symptoms that can be related to that diagnosis are:

Constipation
Weight gain
Amenorrhea (absence of menses)
Hair loss
Weakness or feeling tired

Those are the ones that I recall you mentioned. I am a doctor, but obviously a diagnosis can not be made just for a few symptoms. I would have your blood work done and the I'd tell you. Hopefully is not your case and I am wrong.

For how long you've been ttc? If the diagnosis is right and you recieve the proper treatment, conceiveng will be easier.

Good luck...

Also mood swings, more like depresive mood are related too.
Have you noticed body temperature changes, like cold intolerance?

Thanks so much for your help!

Funny thing is we're actually not TTC right now, we're WTT and I'm on birth control but have missed a lot of pills last month. I wouldn't be upset if I were pregnant now, I'd actually be excited, but we weren't actually trying.

I ended up going to the ER last night because I had been extremely nauseas all day (along with various other symptoms) and the left side of my abdomen had been pulsing very hard and very visibly like a heartbeat since 1PM and hadn't gone away by 11PM and I was worried of cysts or an aneurysm so I decided I'd rather be safe than sorry, and that maybe they could also figure out everything else that's going on with me. Well they drew my blood, everything was normal. Gave me urine and blood pregnancy tests that both came back negative (apparently an ultrasound was not available in the middle of the night). I had a CT scan and it looked fine, no cysts or aneurysm. He left my diagnosis as "unknown." So I left with the same exact problem I had going in. He also had no idea what was causing the weird pulsing, or any of my symptoms for that matter. He told me to wait for my next cycle to begin and keep taking pregnancy tests. I was so frustrated, but at least eased that I didn't have anything serious going on.

Do you think they tested for hypothyroidism in my blood? They drew about 6 capsules full. I have had very depressed feelings lately, they come and go randomly and I cry so so so easily now. I also have been getting sweats and chills, but mostly sweats.

So I"m still in the same boat, still 22 days late for AF. I think I'll finally believe I'm not pregnant when I get my next period, which should be in about 6 days.

They don't do TSH levels in the ER. You better go to an Internist. That pulse on your abdomen sounds very unusual but thank God everything was fine in the CT scan. I can think in a variety of diagnosis but I don't want to stress you more. Be sure to make an appointment as soon as possible. Also sometimes the bc pills can stop your period, but the rest of the symptoms? I don't think so. Hopefully everything is ok with you. Good luck and keep me posted...

I have a follow up appointment with a gastro specialist on Thursday, I will definitely ask him about my thyroid. Thanks so much for bringing that up.

What are some other diagnoses you were thinking of? It won't stress me more, but will give me more to ask my doctor about!

Thanks so so much for caring and helping!

Maybe a Prolactinoma, it also decrease your thyroid hormone levels (causing all the symptoms related to it) and also causes headache. If you want to present it to your doctor as a possible differential diagnosis, read a little bit, google it and tell him...You are going to be just fine. Take care girl...

If you google "thyroid disorder forum," there are a ton of them, and someone there might be a big help to you. xx

I read about Prolactinoma and will be asking my doctor about it. Thank you, and congratulations on your pregnancy! :)

That's such a good idea, to google the thyroid forum, thanks so much for the idea!! Will do that right now.
