Ive been TTC for 5 months now and still nothing:cry:
Is it too early to ask the doctors for advice?
Also whats out there to get me healthy while im TTC?
Please replay xx

Hey honey! Firstly, welcome!

I'm pretty new to this myself, but have heard other ladies say that although 5 months feels like eternity, it is not so long...still, I can imagine how you feel, it is just my first month and I hope I don't have to wait too long...

Do you chart? That may make you feel a bit more in control. I was not going to until 3 months from now, but decided it's never to early to get to know my body.

Also, nothing wrong with having a chat with your doctor, if only to put your mind at rest (although I have heard that doctors tell you to try for one year; still worth a go if it will make you feel better and I assume not all doctors are the same).

You can chat to me whenever you like :hugs:

What do you mean by 'get you healthy while TCC'? xx

Hello! :) I'm sorry to hear you're having issues. You will learn a lot here on BNB, I know I did. The ladies here are so knowledgable and friendly.

First of all, do you chart? That will help you know when you ovulated. All you need to do is buy a basal body thermometer at a drugstore or online, and take your temp at the same time every morning. Your temp will be low up until ovulation, then the day after it will shoot up and stay up until you start your period. Unless your pregnant then it will stay up for 18+ days. A good website to track it is fertilityfriend.com it's free and it's the best site out there.

Another thing, do you use OPKs (ovulation predictor kits)? You can get them at drugstores or online-- www.early-pregnancy-tests.com. The online ones are MUCH cheaper. They detect LH which surges before ovulation and sometimes before your period. The test get darker and darker when your coming up on your surge, and whenever you are surging it will be as dark as the control line or darker. That means you will ovulate sometime within the next 48 hours. They are a great help!! Especially when you use them with charting.

TTC can be very stressful.. I hope I helped some and I wish you the best of luck hun. Your BFP will come soon :hugs: xxx

hello,
i have been trying for 6 months, coming off the pill and still not back to normal, so i know it can be frustrating!, since i dont have AF very often my doctor tells me i should test every month when AF should be due, and it gets to the point now i dont even want to test because all i have been getting is BFN if you need a friend to vent to yo can always message me :)

It can be very frustrating....we are at month 2 of ttc natural. If haven't had success ttc for that long now (and it's natural) I would call your OB and see about getting appt. My OB has given me 3 months to try natutal (but I do have history of fertility problems, endo/cyst).
Does anyone know why I would test + opk at cd 13-15, then finally -...so counted cd 14 as 1 dpo....then at cd 22-25 (9-11dpo) I had + opk results again!!! I was also having intense cramping at cd 22(why I decided to do opk again). My temp did dip at cd 23, came back up to norm cd 24, and then went up to around 98.5 at cd 25. I AM SO CONFUSED! Did I even O this month, did it try/fail and then try again?
Anyone? :S

Praying1, I am going through the same thing right now! I took an OPK at 10DPO and got a VERY BRIGHT positive. AF is due in the next 1-2 days and I am getting BFN on HPTs so don't get your hopes up too much. I will let you know if I get a BFP soon, but I don't think its going to happen for me... hope I'm not being negative... I've been ttc for 6 months actively and around 6 months not doing anything to prevent it before that.

Oh hopes not up here...pretty sure I am out. Haven't been testing today...just waiting for AF to make an appearance at this point and ready to start next cycle so we can determine whether we can do this on our own or not. I am one that hates not knowing...sooo ready to know lol!

Thanks so much for your advice.. Its nice to know people who are feeling the same, Ive got 4 days till my period is due, and cant decide whether to do a pregnacy test:shrug: i dont want to get my hopes up. i think i might just book an appt with my doctor just to get some advice. Thannnkk!!:):flower:
Thats hope my test comes back saying :bfp: xxxxxxxxx

hay ladies currently on cycle 6 after 9 years on bc no joy well here to the weekend and our :bfp:

Hi there, 5 months isn't long at all...
we've been trying for around 1 and half years now!!!! :(

I don't think doctors will be able to help unless you've at least tried for 1 year, and I hear they won't consider treatment until 1.5 years. So I'll be able to get treatment soon... hopefully... if we can pinpoint any problems, that is

that not good news 5 months feel like a life time when both my sis in laws have 2 yr olds 8 weeks apart and now both prenant again and guess wht both 8 weeks apart feel like they plotting against me lol good luck

True unless they find a known fertility probelm...example: me with endo/cyst and was given only 3 months ttc on our own before we start treating

I am new to this as well.....had a MC in January and got the ok to TTC in March and no luck yet....

Well ive done a early test today and its :bfn:  feel abit numb.. xxx

Hello Laura (and others)

I totally understand what you're going through. I am on cycle 6 now having tried for a baby for 5 cycles with no BFP. It's tough isn't it, having your hopes up then seeing a BFN or AF? I was in tears on Friday as my temps dropped and even worse yesterday when I started to spot. But the girls on this site have been incredibly supportive, as has my darling hubby.

In the scheme of things, 5 months isn't that long, but I do wonder whether there is something wrong. I have booked myself an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday as I have also been having some pains in my pelvic region. Lets see what he says. I will share anything interesting after my appointment.

Out of curiosity, what have you been trying? (aside from the obvious). Do you DTD every other day? Do you temp, OPK etc?

Hang in there, I know it is tough but it's important to stay relaxed.

x

Laura.....I am also on cycle 5 of TTC#1.....it feels like a lifetime!!! When we got married in Dec, we both thought I would be pregnant in the early part of the year but we are now into May & still no BFP! It gets so hard when AF arrives every month :( :( :( It makes me feel crushed & my DH gets upset too as he really wants to be a father!

This month we are really pulling out all the stops......we are temping (as usual) and using CBFM. I am also taking pre-natals, evening primrose oil & grapefruit juice (for CM) and Raspberry leaf tea.
DH is taking Zinc & Vit E for his swimmers too!!! Trying to give my body the best shot naturally.....before we go to the Doc!

When we started TTC I went to my GP & he tested me for rubella & my iron & B12 levels (I have pernicious anaemia) He said if we werent pregnant by month 6 he would test us & help us get things moving.....we are lucky to have him, hes a very good GP!

Best of luck to everyone TTC..........We will all get our BFP soon xxx

Hey MarcMrs- your GP sounds awesome. Though hopefully your next appt with him/her will be to announce you are pregnant! Do keep us posted.

Hi Laura.

I'm in the same boat. I have been TTC since last June after coming off the Depo Injection. It's been a hard time of having no periods at all to having 5 in month but I have finally had my first positive OPK this month. Dont give up hope hun. It will happen soon. I went to the doctors and they all brushed me off saying it can take up to a year which was disheartening. I'd rather keep going month to month with the hope that it can happen rather than let the doctors dash it all for a year!!! Hang in there babe xxx

hi everyone, im new on here, looking to meet other women who like me are TTC, we have been trying for a few months now and hoping for a BFP soon. TTC is very stressful, trying to monitor my cycle and im worried that it is irregular, will this affect our chances? Any advice would be appreciated :( x
