Hi ladies!
My hubby and I were NTNP for 1 year, and then we have been seriously trying for 7 cycles now. I guess by definitions, we would technically be considered infertile at this point that we have had unprotected sex for 19 months without so much as a pregnancy scare. I don't want to put ourselves through unnecessary tests and procedures...bc maybe nature is just taking its course and its going to take us longer. But...I do want to make sure that everything is up and running correctly in both of our systems (mostly- am I ovulating? why are my luteal temps low and why is my luteal phase only 11-12 days? does he have enough sperm?)
I am also considering acupuncture but I am unsure if this is something even worth looking into.
Basically, I don't know where to start and I am looking for some guidance.
Thanks ladies!
xx

Hi katie cakes,

First I want to say that luteal phase 12 days is good. It would be bad if it was 7 days.

Secondly, you can go to your GP and ask for SA and you can have your hormones checked - 2/3, 14, 21 CDs.

Good luck.

^^wss

You can have blood tests done on CD 3 and CD 21 of you cycle and the doctor can tell if you are ovulating and what your progesterone levels are.

They will also do an ultrasound to see if they can spot anything physically wrong. You won't be able to see if your tubes are clear or if you have endometriosis, but they will be able to take a look at your egg follicles.

DH can get a sperm check from a urologist or a fertility clinic.

Those are usually the first basic tests that a doctor will run :) Good luck!
