My husband and I have been ttc since we got married in September. I have a regular cycle, and always have ovulation symptoms around the 14th day. So, until this month we have just been dtd every other day during my fertile window. Since we still haven't gotten pregnant, I decided to try ovulation tests. I didn't get a positive last month. I have attached a picture of the tests from this month, and marked the one I believe to be positive (last night, 9 pm) we dtd as soon as I got the positive and will tonight and tomorrow. Is this a good method, how have you guys had success? I was very upset that I didn't ovulate last month, so my doctor has prescribed 100 mg Clomid for my next cycle, but I would rather it occur naturally if possible.

Hey tor624!

Thanks for commenting on my post. I'm also new to the forum and am, like you, ttc #1. My husband and I have been trying for a year but when nothing really happened, I decided to start using an opk. This cycle is the first time we are trying with an opk. I decided on the clearblue easy digital ovulation kit as I am not too keen on guessing whether how dark a line is or not on the dye ones.

The instructions on the kit stated to start testing roughly on CD9 since I have on average a 26-day cycle. The first day was negative. But on the second day (CD10), I got a positive smiley face which indicates that I would be ovulating within the next 48 hours and that my hubby and I should have sex until then. We had sex on CD10 and CD12.

I'm currently on CD27 and no AF yet. Fingers crossed! I am waiting until CD29 to do a HPT since my longest cycle over the past months was 29 days. I'll wait until then to see if AF shows up. If not, I'll start to test.

I am pretty satisfied with the clearblue digital ovulation kit. It did what it would do and it helped me a lot since I had always thought I ovulate later and not so early on CD10 with a 26-day cycle. I can highly recommend it!
