New to ttc #2 and in it for the long haul

I'm 29, just starting to ttc #2 after the pill (extended cycle), and expecting it to take 9+ months.

I'm excited about the idea of a new baby (hopefully while I'm 30!!) but will have a love/hate relationship with af each month.

It took 10 stressful months of ttc (naturally) to get a bfp with my daughter. I didn't ovulate for 8 months!

I'm hoping that this time will be slightly more bearable since I'm expecting to take longer to regulate my hormone levels naturally... although the two week wait always sucks!

Anyone else just starting to ttc and expecting to take awhile? I'll happily wait with you and cheer you on on your journey!

Hi Sapphire! I am also just starting to TTC #2! It took us a year to get pregnant with our now 2 year old son. I was hopeful that it would happen quick this time but I am thinking I might be in for another long road. Month one we didn't try-didn't prevent last month we tried and felt we had a good chance but no luck this month! I am also 29 years old, will be 30 next month and husband will be 40 in December so the sooner the better!

Hi Magan! I hope you get your bfp much faster this time! The two week wait is always hard but it's even harder to have to do it month after month.

I know I feel at least a little less stressed this time knowing that my body is capable of getting pregnant... last time I went a little crazy worrying that it wasn't even possible! And... I'm running after a 2 year old so there just isn't time in the day for the same level of obsession

I'm on cd1 of who know how long. I bought a bunch of cheap opks online and will be using them from the start this time.

I keep telling myself I wont obsess this time, but I don't think I can promise myself lol. My 2 year old keeps me pretty busy too! I also run a home daycare and my son LOVES the babies that come in! I cant wait for the day that I get to tell him he will be a big brother! I'm on CD3. Me and my SO just got married 2 weeks ago so I was hoping the wedding and honeymoon would work in my favor lol. I have to get ahold of some opks still.

Hey girls! I am also ttc #2. I am a little older, Im 37 and i have a 5 year old daughter. I had 3 m/c's before i had my daughter. When i was pregnant with my daughter i was taking metformin, clomid and progesterone. This is our first month ttc again. I hope it don't take as long, as my clock is ticking..hahah

Hi CocoMungo! I hope we all get our BFP;s fast this time! Sorry for your loss's. Doesn't age make it feel like you have a time crunch against you? I will be 30 this year but my husband will be 40 and he is worried about his age and keeping up with little ones as he gets older. I'm worried if we haven't had our BFP by his birthday that he wont want to try anymore.

Yes it definitely feels like crunch time. My BF is only 31 so at least he's still young...hahah

Welcome coco! Are you trying any interventions for the beginning this time or taking a more relaxed approach?

I originally thought I wanted 2 kiddos 5-6 years apart so I'd only have 1 in daycare at a time. Then I turned 29, decided I wanted 3 kids, and figured I better get to it! The women in my family have a history of taking a long time to get pregnant and all signs point to me having the same issues with anovulation so I figure if I want 3 kiddos I shouldn't waste time.

Hi all I'm expecting to take awhile also. Ttc for 4 months now with only 2 ovulations and 32years old. My first was an accident and my 2nd took 2 years and fertility specialists and so much agony. Now starting ttc #3 and im hoping to avoid all that which may mean it takes awhile. Would be nice to have people who understand the wait on ovulation is just as hard as the tww.

37 and i am on my 2nd cycle of ttc #2. I had 4 m/c's before i had my daughter. I need to see the doctor and get on some meds that did help right before i got pregnant.

My son is 8and half mth. We ntnp this mth ...since I just stopped breastfeeding and got my 1st period...I dunno how my cycles are...but I m hoping ewcm, cramps and twinges this week were ovulation...I m trying to bd 2 times a week from 1 period to another. ..let's see..
First 1 took an year..I got testing done and waa about to start meds and got a surprise...let's see this time! !

I didn't try anything different really just tried not to obsess so much this time around. I am feeling ok, nausea comes and goes and I am exhausted but that is the extent of my symptoms so far.

Yes I am from Ontario. We live an hour away from the US border though so we go over quite often. Not so much lately though because our dollar is pretty crappy right now. Where did you move to?

I moved from hamilton, Ontario to Chicago, IL...
I didn't do opk etc just from ewcm n cramps...I think I m 5-7dpo today...
I m feeling so tired this week, bloated, was crying today too for no reason, boobs are sensitive, my back hurts and I have twinges heRe n there, vivid dreams last 2 nights n hot flashes but today had cold chills n throat achy plus got a cold sore...and acne on my face which I never get..I dunno if these symptoms are just hormones normalizing since I weaned my son off breastfeeding in nov or are these pregnancy signs or I am just over analyzing...not sure when/if af will come...
My last period was nov 26-Dec 2...before my son my cycles were on avg 34 days long. ..
My first pregnancy...my only symptom was exhaustion and wanting to sleep..I thought that since I was unemployed, bored, and away from family, I just used sleep to kill my day ...in fact I waa 2 and half mth preggo when I found out I m preggo as I was gone to fertility center and before starting meds, they wanted to verify I m not preggo....I was so careless first 3mths in a sense carrying heavy stuff, crying, even slipped on road. Lol...
I Wana workout hardcore but afraid to do so until I m sure of pregnancy. ..

Hey ladies- mind if I join you? We started ntnp in November 2014. Started full on ttc in June. Took a break in November and we are back to ntnp until February when we will start clomid.

We were ltttc with ds so really not that surprised we are back here again. We caught him our first round of clomid so hoping to have similar success this time.

I tried clomid 3mths n no pregnancy. ..than got a surprise pregnancy few mths after...
Af is 1 week away. ..I m lazy, tired, depressed,bored,not working out either and eating alot more than usual. ..my first pregnancy symptom was that I was always tired!!!
I want to pick a hobby to keep.my mind occupied. ..any hobbies you ladies have?

I try to read. I love becoming engrossed in a book. But that's harder with ds. I also like sewing/quilting and I have a darkroom that I love developing photos in. We also bought a house this year so it's kept me busy with projects.

I have severe lower back ache from last few days..I m so bloated too...I have been working out and eating healthy yet last night after shoveling snow I come to sit and hubby looks at me and he is like r u expecting? Did u test? I m like no not yet...I m like y...he is like your tummy is round n out...hmmmmm....I m.like I just ate so it must be just food pouch but it didn't go away even today...no other signs....
Wat about u girlies?
