Hi All,

Well i have been lurking for a couple of months and you seem like a nice friendly bunch and i could do with some support right now so here goes... Please bear with me as mine is quite a long story

I started ttc in 2003, i had 2 early m/c's followed by my little boy 4 weeks early by emergency c/s. We began ttc no 2 nearly 2 years ago. To my amazement i began pregnant the first month of trying but sadly this again ended in a m/c at about 6 weeks. The following month i found i was pregnant again and for the following 5 weeks i had 2 scans (no pregnancy was found) and 2 episodes of extreme pain until at 11 weeks i ended up in a&e with a ruptured ectopic, i lost my right tube and my ovary was sutured, luckily i survived. About 12 months ago we felt brave enough to try again i was put on 3 months of clomid as my levels we low, i still never conceived so my consultant decided to preform a lap and dye to see what was going on. This was only on wednesday so i am still a bit raw but basically i have a fibroid on my left side , adhesions on both sides due to the previous surgery, and even though the dye did go through my left tube , i got the impression it was unlikely i would conceive naturally as there is poor mobililty of my tube not sure if this means its not picking up the egg or the egg is not travelling down it. Anyway IVF was suggested as an option but as i have 1 child this woul have to be private. I am now awaiting a follow up appointment with the consultants but would welcome anyones thoughts or advise. Thanks for reading if you managed to get this far

Welcome hun, seems like you have been through a tough time!
I cant really give you any advice, but I just wanted to say I have my fingers crossed for you that you stay healthy and go on to get that BFP!!!

Hi, i am sorry to hear your news. Its really tough to get that diagnosis. I was diagnosed with tubal infertility in jan and was told ivf was our only option. THe thing is now I am 5 weeks pregnant. Waiting for a scan in a week to see if ectopic. - am sorry to ask about your ectopic but did you have normal pregnancy symptoms and how many weeks were you when you first got pains?

Surely if the dye went through your tubes, the egg can too? Or is the problem your cilia are not working? If so are they worried about further ectpic?

Your chances of concieving with ivf would be good but its a lot of money to find.

I know you are in pain right now but it will get better as at least you have some answers now. Wishing you all the best.

Hi, thanks for your replies. I'm not in too much pain now just got a huge bruise coming out on my stomach now. It wasn't such a which diagnosis for me as a knew something must be wrong after so many months trying and having had the ectopic so long. At least now I have the options of ivf rather than just hoping every month. I think I need to lose some weight first to improve my chances but I'd better be quick as I am 35 now x.
Brambles I am hoping and praying you have a healthy pregnancy and a lovely bouncing baby. But you need to keep safe the thought of anyone going through what I did terrifies me. I knew I was pregnant at 4 weeks , I did have spotting at 5 weeks but ignored this as I didn't want to to through another m/c in hospital looking back it was like prune juice as someone else discribed it. I put it down to implantation. At 6 weeks I had my first scan no pregnancy could be seen at this point I SHOULD have been sent to the epu and I would have been found and removed under a laparoscopy. The pain came a couple of weeks after that but if something is wrong it will be found before that. Please let me know how you get on keep ur spirts up but you r right to be cautious.

Not everyone is the same but once you get used to the idea of IVF, it is not that bad. Its a chance at least. You are still a good age. Take to time to get over this experience and look after yourself. I know for me it helped to have an option at last. I tried to concieve for 2 1/2 years and it gets so soul destroying as you know. It took a few weeks to get strong after my diagnosis but you do. Wishing you all the best

I am being very cautious as you say but am praying the embryo made it through the tubes. My lap and dye surgeon said i had a cling film like stuff over my overies and one tube was totally blocked, the other partially filled but didn't spill out the overy end. obviously the egg made it out of the overy though and entered the tube where there was supposed to be a blockage. Only time will tell.

hi all,
Still in pain and got a huge bruise on my stomach so staying off work for a bit x Trying not to think and worry about things too much and skink into depression but it's hard x

:hi: Welcome. Sorry to hear about all you've been through. I hope the pain goes away soon.
