Newbie, NT question and Gender guesses, Please!

Hello ladies, I am 41 and 12 weeks pregnant. I had my 12 NT scan yesterday and although the tech was not the friendliest I was able to see my measurement of 1.21 What does this mean? They took blood also, but were tight lipped and I don't see my Dr. until Oct....

I have attached my scan pic. Please tell me your guesses on boy or girl. We did see a "pointy" thing between the legs, but she said it could go either way at this point.

I am thrilled to be joining you over 35s. We have been trying for 6 years with 2 miscarriages. I found out 5 days before my 41st that I am pregnant.

Congratulations ! Sorry your technician was not the friendliest.....but the picture is awesome ! I don't know anything about measurements :/. I don't go for my 11 week scan until the week of October 25th. Wishing you all the best!

Welcome. I am notoriously bad at nub guessing so I will just go with GIRL....lol
The NT measurement sounds good from what I have discovered. Fngers crossed you get good news in October. I go for my scan in 10 days - hoping for a similar measurement.

My sonographer told me anything above 3.5 was high risk, my measurement came in at 2.4.
1.21 sounds good,congrats to you x

Mapleleaf- In 10 days at your scan, you will be amazed at how much your baby has grown and seeing it moving around is precious. Can't wait to see what your results are and the scan.

Animaniacs- I'm relieved it is a good #. The tech wouldn't tell me so looked at the screen and found the # next to NT. Thanks all for your encouragement.

xxchristinxx - Your measurement looks great also. Congrats. Your sonographer sounds alot better than the one I got. She just kept repeating herself "any diagnostic questions should be referred to your Dr." Other than that she didn't talk. I just peaked at the screen she was typing and "think" I saw NT: 1.21 I know some people get thier results directly after the scan.

Geesh, don't know why I always get stuck with the crabby techs and act like they hate their jobs. Oh well, just happy that my baby appears to be doing ok.

Congrats and welcome! That sounds like a great NT measurement but it is analyzed in conjunction with bloods so that's why they weren't saying anything. Best wishes for a great result but so far seems good! Great pic! I'm terrible at gender guesses so wouldn't even venture a say in that department!

hiya,she told me if you can see a nasal bone it is a good sign,as many babys with DS, their nasal bone doesn`t show! Didn`t know that? She took blood too,but told me my scan was perfect so not to worry too much about the blood results,as just your age can affect the result. xx

Can you see a nasal bone in my pic? I see some white which appears to be a nose. I didn't know this and of course my tech said nothing about it. Wish I was more informed! Thank you Christine!

Thats a fab measurement (its mm by the way) the boys measurements were 1.1mm and 1.4mm - that combined with my blood tests, BMI (was good pre preg) and age (36) gave me a risk of 1:3700 and 1:4500

I am rubbish at gender guessing lol I thought mine were two girls!!!!
