Newly pregnant and bleeding...help!

Kellie I can't wait to hear how your scan goes! Did you get to buy a doppler? I've heard a lot of women having their symptoms come and go. I never had bad morning sickness.. just crazy food aversions that would come and go and migraines like crazy. but I know happenstance had her symptoms coming and going for a while. I'm sure your scan will bring great news!!! You'll have to post a picture!!! :)
Congrats on making it to 12 weeks too!!!! :happydance:
Sending you and your LO lots of hugs!!! :hugs::hugs:

Jut3k, I'm so sorry that you got that news... I would definitely give it more time if it can take up to 8 weeks for some women. I know my LO was a late bloomer it seemed like. I really hope things get better and your little one shows up! Please keep us updated!!! lots of hugs your way!!!! :hugs::hugs:

How is everyone else doing?
Happenstance, you better get back here soon missy!!!:hugs:

Hi Ladies - feels like I haven't spoken to you in forever! Been soooo busy with work these past couple of weeks!!

Horseypants - I have started to feel pretty normal this past week or two actually - sometimes I even forget I'm pregnant (though my growing belly quickly reminds me!) I'm still tired but not like I used to be - as long as I get 8 hours sleep I'm just fine! No sickness either - just so hungry all the time lol!

I had my 2nd midwife appt on Tues and she listened to the baby's HB - she said she thought it was a girl - just 2 and a half weeks til I find out!!

rkb15 - I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and still spot a little from time to time. I spotted pretty much every day in the first tri - so try not to worry! With me they could never see anything that was causing it on the US and that is a good thing! I eventually had an internal exam from my gynae when I lost a couple of clots at 12 and half weeks and she diagnosed me with cervical erosion - which sounds much scarier than it is! When I spoke to my midwife about it on Tues she said it is quite common in women who have had colposcopys in the past which I have. So spotting doesn't necessarily mean anything to do with the baby!

Kellie - massive good luck for your scan today - can't wait to see your photo - mt 12 week scan was amazing - I couldn't believe how much LO was moving about!

Jut3k - I am so sorry to hear that and have everything crossed!

Akblaze - sorry you've not been feeling great and the weather has been so crappy - it's not been great in the UK either - it must have rained every day for a month! On the plus side though it has inspired me to finally decide on the name Noah! Think we may need an arc building one day :haha:

It can't be long now until you go and see your DH? I bet you are soooooo excited!! I can't imagine what it's been like going through all this wothout someone at your side to take care of you! But at least he will be back soon!

Anyway I best go - I'm off to some fancy awards ceremony in London tonight! It's the type of one where I would usually be making the most of the free wine and champagne but not this year! I'm just going to have to watch everybody else get incredibly drunk and act like I'm still as fun when I'm sober - yeah right who am I kidding!!

We miss you Happenstance - hurry back to us!! :hugs:

CharlieJo, I'm sorry the weather has been sucky there too! It so doesn't help my energy level at all, especially since I have like negative energy nowadays! :haha:

That's cool that your midwife guessed a girl!!!! I'm so excited for you to find out!!! :D Either way, the gender scan is so much fun! You'll have to post pictures!! :)
I can't believe your 17 weeks!!! I'm so so so happy for you!!! :cloud9:
I absolutely love the name Noah too!!!!

Well, we decided that I wouldn't fly down to see him in Washington.. He'll be flying home for a two week vaca on the 18th and then will have to go back to Washington state until they send all of them home.. as of now he heard that will be June 24th but with them it's best to not count on any specific date until he's actually boarding the plane! I'm still sooooo anxious to see him but seriously bummed that I don't get to go back with him. I don't know how I'm going to manage saying bye yet again! But with the cost of plane tickets and a rental car for 2-3 weeks, it's just so expensive!
It definitely has been rough going through this without him, but we knew getting pregnant during his midtour, that would happen and I definitely don't regret it because I'm just so in love with our little girl!!! :cloud9:

I hope you continue to do wonderful!!! :) I also hope you had some fun at the ceremony!!! Sending you and your LO lots of hugs!!! :hugs::hugs:

Happenstance, Okay missy, I'm about to send my tracking dogs out to find you!!!! :winkwink: I hope your doing okay!!!! :hugs:

Hi, everyone

I just wanted to give an update to anyone who is still following this thread. I started spotting a few days before my bfp and I stopped spotting around 7ish weeks. I spotted every day for about 4 weeks, and I'm 9 weeks today and I saw the heartbeat last Thursday (so...so far so good!) I know I'm not "in the clear" so to speak, but I just wanted to provide a little hope for anyone who has been worrying about the same thing.

Hi Ladies

Long time no speak - I hope you are all doing well!

Akblaze I bet you are getting really big now - is your DH back for his visit yet?

Happenstance - I'm going to call the search party out for you soon, drop my and let us know how you are doing

rkb15 - that is great news - I'm sooooo happy for you!

Horseypants how is everything with you?

I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow morning and I am sooooo nervous about it - I keep having dreams that I go and something is really wrong! In the build up all my thoughts have been on finding out if a boy or girl but now i'm only bothered abot everything being okay!

Anyway just wanted to check in!!

CharlieJo How did your scan go? I just loved my 20 week ultrasound!!! I think it's normal to worry about things being wrong though! I was definitely nervous going into mine, but once I saw her my heart just melted!!!

I am getting big!!! I feel massive already! I love it though, It's wonderful feeling my little girls kicks getting stronger and stronger.. except when she kicks my ribs! :haha:
DH is home as well!!! I haven't been on here much since he's been on his vaca.. but he'll be here until the 11th and then have to leave again for a couple weeks. But should be home for good by the end of June :)
I also got a 3d/4d ultrasound done last week!!! I really recommend that!! It was AMAZING!!! She's got her mommy's nose and her daddy's chin!!! :cloud9:

Happenstance, we miiiisssss you!!!!!!! :hugs:

rkb15, that's great news!!!!! I really hope things continue to go well for you!!! It definitely is amazing when you get to see the heart beat after dealing with the horrible spotting!

Sending all of you lovelies and your little ones lots of hugs!!!!! :hugs::hugs:

Well the 20 week scan was amazing and - its a BOY!!! Thought OH was literally going to burst when the sonographer said it!

I've got a low lying placenta though - the sonographer said to me 'have you had any bleeding' I felt like saying you don't know the half of it! Apparently it is prob due to the fact that my placenta is covering my cervix! It means I've got to go back for a scan at 32 weeks to see if it's moved - and if it hasn't it will be a cesarean delivery for me me - which I'm really hoping to avoid!

It also means excercise is off the menu as I am prone to a big bleed. Trying not to stress especially as after the past few dys I've started to feel him kicking!

Aww that's great that your DH is home - I bet he was surprised when he saw you and bump! I'm not sure if I will do the 3d scan thing as they scare me a bit haha! I can see you pic though on your profile and it is very cute!

I'm off to see what to expect when your expecting tonight with the oh - I've kind of guilt tripped him into it haha.

Anyway hope you are good - speak soon :)

AWW!!! Congrats on your little boy!!!!! :cloud9: That is soo exciting!!!! :D Do you guys have a name picked out yet?

I'm so sorry to hear about your low lying placenta though, I really hope it moves for you so you can avoid a c-section!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!! It's also wonderful that you have begun to feel him kicking! I absolutely love feeling my little girl move and bounce around! :cloud9:

Don't feel bad, I made my hubby go with me to see that movie too!!! He actually thought it was pretty funny! I thought it was great! How did you and your DH like it?

Sending you and your LO lots of hugs!!!!! :hugs:

I just came in here to offer support and to show you I care. I really hate seeing you ladies going through this, in my perfect world this wouldn't happen to any of you and we would all have our dreams.

God bless you and your little bean. Big hugs to you and I hope all works out perfectly :)

I should have read all 31 pages, didn't realize it was that long as I'm on my iPhone.

Yes I enjoyed it and think OH did too really!

Had a bit of a stressful week actually - the dreaded bleeding returned on Wednesday and I was admitted to hospital immediately and spent the night on the maternity ward! It's amazing how different they treat bleeding once you hit 20 weeks and are under the care of the maternity dept in the hospital! Its stopped again now and they let ne out late last night on bed rest for a couple of days! It was do scary - I just wish it would stop!!

How's your pregnancy going then?

Oh goodness, that's so scary!!!! How have you been since then? Has the bleeding stayed away? I really hope it has!! That's great that the maternity ward takes great care of you! I haven't had any trips to the hospital since first trimester, and I was able to get in to my doctors office when I was having problems around 23 weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the spotting stays away!

It's been going really well for me. I still get an insaaane amount of braxton hicks. If I followed the "call when you have three in an hour" rule, I'd be calling every day! :haha: But my little girl is wonderfully healthy! My husband was able to get checked while he was home whether he was a carrier for cystic fibrosis or not.. since I am I was PRAYING that he wasn't and he's not!!!! :happydance: It was a huge sigh of relief! Now, I'm just completely exhausted!!! I can't believe she'll be here in less than 8 weeks!! :cloud9: This pregnancy has gone by soooo slow!

keep us updated on how your doing though! Keeping you and your little boy in my thoughts!

Hope everyone else is doing wonderful!!!:flower:

Hey everyone! Just wanted to check in and say hi! I'm 18 weeks now, still have the odd spot of bleeding every now and then but found out today we are expecting another boy! He looked amazing, had a 4d freeview too and I'm so in love :)

Hope everyone else is doing well xxx

8 weeks Akblaze that really is crazy!! Are you super organised with nursery etc? I've just started making lists on what I have to buy and scared myself so put it away for a couple of weeks! I came home the other day though and the OH had totally cleared out the room that will be the nursery so we are pretty much ready to go - I'm still at the stage where I don;t want to 'jinx' anything though so haven't bought a thing - need to snap out of it pretty quick though haha!

Great news about DH not being a carrier - those annoying braxton hicks may well stand you in good stead for the birth though!!

I've had no more bleeding (touch wood) but am just being quite closely monitored by hospital - I just really hope I don;t end up one of those people who gets admitted for the last month(s) of their pregnancy!

Kellie that is great news - I'm having a boy too! And as you can see I am also still bleeding!! Have they said what they think may be causing it? I've had to solutions offered so far - cervical erosion and placenta previa - I think it may well be a combination of the two but am hoping it is more the former!

Anyway make sure you ladies are all taking care of yourself - Happenstance please do come back and see us soon!!

Kellie, Congrats on your little boy!!!! How exciting!!!! Have they given you any reasons for the occasional bleed? Hopefully it stops soon, I can't imagine how frustrating that must be!! It was bad enough for me just having it in the first trimester!! It's great that your little boy looked great in the ultrasound though!!! I'm so happy for you!! :)

Charliejo, Oh I know!!! I'm finding it hard to believe but at the same time I just want to be full term to really start counting down the days and not worry about her being a preemie! As for the nursery... oh gosh, everything is in a big pile!!! We still don't have everything bought yet and we're still waiting on the crib/changer and dresser to get delivered! I seriously get more and more stressed about the nursery as the time gets closer, the reason it's still not done is because my husband and I both wanted him home so we could do it together... our plan was to get it finished while he was home on his vacation but that so didn't happen! :dohh: But he'll be home FOR GOOD this friday and I told him we HAVE to have the room ready by 35 weeks! Don't wait as long as we did!!!! It's soooo stressful!
I really hope all these braxton hicks do help out! Also, I started drinking a cup of red raspberry leaf tea a day and will gradually increase the amount.. I've heard great things about it helping with the second stages of labor, so we'll see!!

I thought it was hard snapping out of the stage that your in, so don't worry one bit :) I think it'll happen when it's the right time for you. Just don't wait too long to getting things ready!
Does the hospital still have you on bed rest at all or did they take you off since you haven't had spotting for a little bit? I really hope you don't end up in the hospital for the last month(s)!! Have they mentioned that being a possibility?

You ladies take care of yourselves and your little ones!! I'll be thinking of you and crossing my fingers that the spotting stays away!! :hugs::hugs:

Happenstance, come back soon!! I hope everything is okay with you and your LO!!! :hugs:

Akblaze that is amazing that he is back for good! You def need to post some images of your nursery when it is done!

I am super organised in the fact that I have a full list of what I need to buy and have decided on my theme and what furniture I am having etc. I just don;t want to phyiscally buy the bigger stuff until August!

I have started buying stuff though - mainly clothes and bedding off ebay but I have to admit it is starting to get quite addictive! At this rate I will prob have bought most of the smaller stuff in the next 2 weeks unless somebody bans ebay from my computer!!

I'm not on bed rest as such just 'being sensible' and touch wood not had any more bleeding since the other week! The amount he is moving is quite reassuring though!

You're so close now it is crazy - have you thought about your birth plan yet? I was originally thinking water birth but this might not happen yet!

Anyway look after yourself and get that nursery sorted so I can see it!!

I will definitely post pictures! We've got it pretty much done but just need to finish clearing out some bigger items that won't stay in there and we need to get some wall decorations :)

That's great you have started buying things! I agree that it is sooo addicting! Lol! I just loovvee baby shopping!!! :) I'm so happy you aren't on bed rest and that bubs is moving a lot for you! My little girl is the same way!!

Well, I'm really wanting to labor in the tub (the hospital here doesn't let you deliver in there though :( ) but as of now I'm just praying she stays put!
Woke up today with a ton of brown discharge but shrugged it off. Couple hours later noticed more but had some spots of blood so DH and I came to L&D per my OBs instructions.. Found out I'm 3-4 cm dilated!!!!! Talk about shocked!
They gave me a steroid shot for my LOs lungs and some toradol to try to calm my uterus down.. And now I'm just being monitored. Really hoping she stays put!!!

I'm not sure about the medication but I did have some bleeding at about 5 weeks.. I went to the ER and the quantitative hcg was only 91.. they had me do an u/s the next day and the tech didnt see anything and started saying it was probably a false positive! :( well i went to my doc a few days later to get rechecked and the OB saw a fetal pole and hcg went up to 233.. however I had more spotting around 7-8 weeks.. my OB has me going in every two weeks because of all the spotting.. but so far everything is okay.. when i went to the ER it was red blood, so I considered it bleeding.. and when it happened again it was brown (i was told that when its brown that its old blood), but still wasn't soaking panty liners.. I try not to stress but sometimes it's sooo hard!!!! The best advice I have is to keep your head up and to try to relax! I had a loottt of spotting through december but so far the little one is still growing! :hugs::hugs:

Hi there

I didn't have much spotting in the beginning, but since last week Sunday I have had some bleeding for short periods. I am now 6wks6d pregnant.
My dr put me on progesterone which seemed to help, but then I had some more bleeding yesterday morning with large clots and no pain. The blood was red in the beginning but turned brown.

We did another scan yesterday, and my babies are fine with very strong heartbeats. It seems that some women do spot and bleed during their pregnancy and other's don't. As long as you don't have severe pain with the bleeding you should be fine. But rather have yourself checked out for some piece of mind. Every time I start bleeding I start panicking. It is very scary.

I am also seeing my dr again in 2 week's time to monitor how things are going with all this spotting and bleeding episodes.

Good luck to all of you!

Wow Akblaze I have just caught up!! How are you doing? Did the hospital managed to put off the labour or do we now have a little girl?

Get your legs crossed amd tell her she needs a few more weeks to cook - though I bet the thought of meeting her a little bit earlier is exciting!1

Thinking of you - keep us informed :happydance::hugs:

It definitely has been an INSANE 5 days!!!! I will say though that my LO is STILL baking! To EVERYONE'S surprise! lol.

well, the hospital tried every drug they could and haven't stopped my contractions.. I'm now 5cm dilated and 90% effaced. When they checked my cervix on ultrasound (on the 5th) it was 1cm, and her head is pushing down on my bag of waters.. I was on bed rest for about 24 hours and that didn't do a thing.. they gave me two of the steroid shots for her lungs (which is sooo reassuring). From there, they basically prepared us to expect her at any time...

apparently she has other plans! She definitely likes to take her time! They checked me day before yesterday and I was still 5cm.. and since my contractions are still bearable, my doctor THANKFULLY sent me home to wait it out. She keeps saying how shocked she is that I haven't had her yet! She also said that she is comfortable with me being home since my little girl is weighing about 5lb 11oz when we did the ultrasound :) My OB didn't want to check me yesterday before sending me home though because she said the less we check and stir things up, the longer she can hopefully stay baking! But now it's a waiting game, one that is kind of scary! I know she won't make it until august..but If we can make it to the 19th (full term) then I'll be sooo happy!!!
It definitely has been a terrifying and emotional week. It's amazing how much you can love this little person in your belly that you've never met! Them preparing us for the NICU was the hardest thing I've had to hear, although I know she'd be in great hands.. I want her in my arms, HEALTHY!! So I am just over the moon that she decided to wait a little while longer! :D

So for now, I'm just waiting.. not even on bed rest! Just have to take it a little easier, no more working out or cleaning the whole house at once! (not that I'm complaining!) I have an appointment this friday to see if there is any progress, now I just have to hope we don't have her on friday the 13th!!! lol! Still, I am soooo insanely excited to meet my little girl!!! :)

How have you been?? I hope all is well with you and your little one! :flower:
