Hello ladies!

I'm new to TTC. I just went off bcp last month. My husband and I were going to go the NTNP approach but being the control freak that I am, we're going for it!

My last af on the pill was August 6th. My periods on the pill only lasted 2 days, barely. Always very light! I had very light spotting and cramping the following week, I am assuming that was my "withdrawal bleed" but it was barely there and I didn't think anything of it until I read through hundreds of posts here on BnB.

Therefore, I think I'm currently on CD35 if you go by the first day of my last af on bcp. I'm pretty sure I O'd on CD 14/15 based on CM. I haven't really temped yet or done opks. So it's definitely a guess! From what I can remember before bcp (7 years ago), I had regular periods, still short (like 3-4 days) but extremely painful cramps which is why I went on bcp in the first place.

I haven't gotten my af yet, and I don't feel like it's coming. :nope: I have had no symptoms this entire cycle except for that week right after coming off the pill. CD 32 my nipples started to get very tender and have been ever since. I took a hpt on CD 30 because I was starting to get anxious, bfn. The whole point is I don't feel anything.

I know it takes time for your body to regulate but this is getting a little confusing and very frustrating! Has anyone had a similar experience? Or if not, do you have any advice? Not sure what to do but wait!

Thanks!

Give your body time to regulate. You can have fertile CM throughout your cycle. As soon as everything feels like its back to normal start temping and using OPKs. Also you count your cycles when your period starts: for example if you start back on Thur(9/11) then count Thur as day one and keep counting until you start again. I use fertility friend which is very useful. I hope I have helped :)

Thank you! I guess I just need to be patient. I will definitely try opks and temping next cycle...whenever it comes!

My first cycle off bcp (after 10+ years) was over 50 days so don't worry if you have a long cycle for your first few cycles. I came off bcp in April and my last cycle was finally normal length (27 days). I'm really hoping things have normalized and I get my bfp soon. Good luck to you!

You can still get pregnant without AF.

And a lot of women take around 3 months to get everything back to normal. I'm 3 weeks off BCP and waiting for AF..

crystlmcd - 50 days! I guess I need to just wait it out at this point. I remember having pretty regular cycles before I started bcp so maybe after a few cycles it will go back to "normal". 27 days - I bet you're thankful for that now :)

Buffyx - we can play the waiting game together. Hoping we both regulate quickly!

Thanks for the advice ladies. I was a little scared to post because sometimes when I say this stuff out loud I sound like a crazy person, but if I keep it to myself I'm going crazy anyways. This process is exciting and overwhelming! Wishing you all the best of luck!
