Normal Days For Clomid?

Hi ladies

I was wondering if its normal to be taking clomid on CD 2-6?? I just dont see many around taking them on these days.. more seem to take them on CD 3-7 or CD 5-9

I just figure that my fertility specialist knows what she is going

This will be my second month on 50mg of clomid, I've taken my first pill today.

We have unexplained fertility so hoping the clomid gives us a push in the right direction what about you? Will this be your first month?

My RE prescribed clomid for me to take starting CD 2 also! Tonight is pill #2. So far..so good! Will you ladies use opks too?

Yes I will be using OPK's along with a blood test to determine when I ovulate. Last month I was almost text book ovulated day 14 and got AF day 27... but no positive

I have always been 2-6 the reasons goes like this....the earlier you take it the more eggs you are likley to produce the later the less eggs but 'maybe' better quality.

Clomid / Clomifene citrate blocks the effect of the hormone oestrogen in your body. This blocking effect tricks your body into bumping up levels of two other hormones that are essential for ovulation. FSH & LH so the ealier you take it the more blocking is done. Hope this helps a bit. Its perfectally normal to be prescribed 2-6 xx

I've been prescribed to take it CD2-6 too, but haven't started yet (next cycle will be my first time). I'm taking 50mg. Good luck to all of you!

Yes this is my first month on clomid too guys 50mg.

I phoned my Gynae this afternoon and confimed that everything was okay, the nurse was really freindly

I feel better know how to take it for sure now ladies.. but a littel nervous a tomrrow is my first ever time on provera....

Sure I'll keep you updated! We can be cycle buddies! This is 1st time taking clomid. I was wondering if it messes with the accuracy of opks.

Glad to see there are a few of us taking Clomid 2- 6.
Today was day 2 of clomid for me and I woke up feel verrrry hot and didnt sleep well - woke up at 2:30 and laid there for hours.

Nimbec - thanks for that -makes more sense now. My husband does have a morphology issue (2%) but 175 million sperm so my fertility specialist maybe wants more eggies for the spermies to find haha

SarahLou - Good luck hope it all goes well. I cant comment on Provera as I have not used that before, what is it for?

Piper - No the OPK did not give me false readings, if anything they were better. I had a positive on day 13 and went in for blood work same day, the dr confirmed I had my surge on day 13 and "should" ovulate on day 14. My OPK's confirmed this for me.

I'm doing the Clear Blue trial for their dual hormone OPKs, and when I told them I was starting Clomid next cycle, they said I could still continue with the study, so I'll let you know what results I get. I'll go in for an u/s on CD 12 or 13 to check on the progress as a comparison too. It'll be weird to ovulate so early- the last couple cycles it's been CD24/25! But that's better than no ovulation and no AF at all which is what I had for the first 10 months of TTC.

Piper , how is clomid going for you this month? I seem to be ok, I just get random hot flushes all the time haha very annoying.

I go for a blood test on Friday to confirm if I am close to ovulation

My 1st (hopefully only) round of clomid went well! I didn't experience any of the side effects. Maybe because I took it at night...

Plan to start opks tomorrow...

Hello!

I've been prescribed clomid for cd3-7 which I think is petty normal. I did some research and it said 2-6 is more rare but it didn't say why. The information that someone posted on the last page was really interesting though. I guess it's quality vs. quantity. I also take mine at night and all I've found so far I that I get insane hot flashes when I'm tying to fall asleep. Everything else seem pretty normal! Last pill tonight! GL to everyone

I have just taken my last provera pill tonight now just waiting on af to arrive now

Then clomid starts on CD 2-6

I always if my weight is okay though.. my BMI is around 26-27 or so ....

SarahLou- mine is around there too. My GP said it would help to be "not overweight", though when we were looking into the fertility referral on the NHS, it seemed like a BMI of 30 was the cut off of where fertility treatment was less successful for them.

AFM--Clomid has delayed ovulation. I normally get + opks on CD 11. I got my first one today (CD 14) & it's super dark. I also got the smiley face finally so I'm feeling better now. Now just waiting for the temperature shift.....

Piper, that's super interesting that clomid caused a late O for you. I hope that doesn't happen for me! My O is usually not until CD 21 or so. Did you get the temp shift? I just started temping again this month. Such a pain! But I guess it'll be worth it if it helps OH told me I should just to make sure my O date is accurate.

Yes! I got my temp shift & cross hairs (Fertility Friend). I'm 4 dpo!
