I was induced with my 1st at 13 days overdue. I was totally unfavourable for labour apparently-cervix high, hard an tilted back, no dilation, LO not engaged, 2 failed sweeps which did nothing except make me cry haha. I was induced via pessary and it did nothing all day, that night I was waiting on the ward to go on the drip the next morning after that didn't work and got checked as I had a new pessary in, same story, no dilation etc. Shortly after that labour started, I was 6cm less than 2 hours after being checked and not ready for labour at all and I had him 4 hours later. Sometimes things can get going out of nowhere! I hope you experience the same if you are induced
At 41w I had an unfavorable cervix and was high risk for c-section, but I dialated steadily, my water broke on its own, and I did end up needing help at the end due to DD having a short cord, it wasn't to bad at all.
This time I am going to avoid if possible...
How high is your blood pressure? Can't they just monitor it? Were your urine and bloods normal? I personally would be trying to avoid induction if at all possible, I know sometimes it's the only safe option and some people have positive induced labours but so many sound complicated and traumatic. I had high blood pressure but ended up going naturally, just in the nick of time as preeclampsia was just starting to develop, so glad I avoided induction though!
I was induced at 39+6 due to high blood pressure too. Completely unfavourable cervix when they put in the first dose of gel. Same with the second dose. Just barely dilated enough for my OB to break my waters 8 hours later when they hooked me up to the drip. LG arrived 13 hours later.
Bp is down enough not to induce this week since I'm on bed rest. Also my cervix is facing my rectum and maybe dilated to a 1. If I don't go on my own he will induce at 41 weeks. Being pregnant for 2 more weeks males me wanna scream
I was induced due to blood pressure with DS1 and completely unfavourable. The pessary alone got me into labour within 24 hours, I didn't need my waters breaking and my established (and back to back!) labour was just a few hours! I stayed on my feet once the cramps started, and throughout labour, think it helped!
Good luck hun, hope if goes well like it did for me! X
