I've been the same way. It varies daily what will stay down and what tastes decent to me. Sometimes I just don't eat because I'm scared of barfing it up in the next hour. I have to force myself to eat every few hours.
Protein, yes. Do you have Zone, Mojo, or Clif bars where you are? They're high in both calories and protein. I just had a Mojo bar this morning and it helped me to feel better so that I can shove other food down my throat.
