now in LTTTC and need advice on doctors in the uk (nottingham)

AF has just arrived and now offically been TTC for a year.

I am 37 and the doctor said at 6 months they would not do anything until we have been TTC for a year, even though i was the age i was. Hubbie only 32.

Now the time has come - will discuss with the hubby whether to give it a one more final shot next month and then if nothing happens next month then make an appt or just make an appt with the doctor to be seen in the next week or so.

If i do the doctor route - what happens, and what is the time line for things to happen. What should i take with me (i have monitored all my months with opk, just about to start tomorrow with bbt, and see what that shows?)

Hello

The procedure does vary slightly, depending on where you are. The standard approach is that your doctor will do some bloods tests, usually a day 21 progesterone test to check that you are ovulating and sometimes a day 3. Blood test to check your FSH and LH. Your hubby will need to do a sperm test.

After that, you are likely to be referred to see a consultant at the hospital who will do further blood tests, an ultrasound and a hsg (like an X-ray of your womb and fallopian tubes).

Be prepared for the doctor not to be overly interested in you opks or the results of monitoring your temperature.

Yep good point, my go was not even remotely interested in my OPKs, and told me not to temp as he said it caused stress, so they are more keen to test themselves with their hormone tests. Good luck x
