This is an update on my older post. We went to the doctor at 11 weeks and he said it looked like more fluid on the back of baby's neck but he didn't know the exact measurement. I just went to the specialist yesterday (11/04/2014) and they told me the measurement is 9.2mm. I am currently 13wks and I don't know what to think about this. I am in shock and everything that I research shows that 9.2mm is very high and doesn't have much of a happy ending. Does anyone else have experience or know someone who has a NT scan come back this high and everything turned out fine? They took bloods yesterday and I was told it would be 7-10 days to get the results. Thanks!

I have no advice hun, but didn't want to read and run. Lots of hugs are being sent to you, and i hope someone can help or have some advice for you xxx

i also have no idea about the numbers and outcomes. hoping for the best for you and that blood tests can give you more information, hopefully for the better.

there is another woman on here who was posting about this also, bless her heart. its making me so nervous bc i didnt get the NT scan this time....

anyhow my thoughts are with you both. hopefully someone can comment with experience

Thank you for your kind words. We actually have the same due date! Do you know who the other person asking about this is? Or at least her user name? I was thinking we could maybe support one another.

Hello medearis. I am also going through a similar situation at the moment. (I think I am who people are referring to?!) I could really do with someone to talk to so please feel free to pm me - we could maybe swap emails and chat?! X

Yes, that was who i had read!

I'm really hoping for some good outcomes for you both, I don't know much about what the results may indicate, but you will be in my prayers for answers, and of course a happy ending

Hi, I'm so sorry your having to go through all this worry :hugs:

Did the dr's give you any information at all? An increased nt doesn't mean that there's definitely a problem. I've read peoples experiences where things have turned out fine and the nt has resolved itself. They'll obviously have a better idea when your bloods come back.

I understand how hard it is waiting, but hang on in there :hugs: I really hope you get some good news

They haven't been given much more information other then the NT was extremely high and it's very unusual in cases like these that the baby turns out 100% healthy. I have read a lot of stories as well about the baby turning out ok but I have only read one with the same amount of fluid as mine (9.2) turning out ok. We are praying for some good news and I just want to get the bloods back so I have an idea of what is wrong or what isn't wrong.

I couldn't find any info on higher amounts of fluid and what it might mean either. Really hope your bloods come back asap so you at least know what your dealing with. Keep us updated :hugs:

So sorry for what you are going through. I did a lot of research about this a while back because our NT measurement came back high, though it was on the lower end of the high side. I didn't want to do an amnio so we paid for the harmony test and it came back clear. We also did a detailed scan and everything was fine. Your NT measurments are much higher and as I'm sure you know the risk is high however I did read two or three stories where everything turned out fine in cases like yours so its not 100%. And there were other cases where the problems were not as great as expected. I really feel for you it must be such a hard time. We went through a tiny taste of the worry you are coping with and that was bad enough. Hugs.

Got back from the specialist today and they showed from the blood tests that the baby has Turners Syndrome. We are devastated and at a loss of what to do next. We also have the Amnio test scheduled for December. Thank you all for your support through this difficult time in my life.

I'm so sorry. Lots of hugs.

Not exactly the same, but with my daughters pregnancy, she had fluid not only behind her neck but her head, back and stomach, they where sure she wasn't going to make it, yet her she is, a normal 2 yr old. I hope everything works out for you

I'm really sorry to read this, was so hoping for a better outcome for you :hugs:
