Ive decided to try Leo on this milk to see if it helps him become a happier baby. He's only had 2 bottles of it so far today but he seems to be taking a while to settle tonight.....could be coincidence though. Im just wondering how long does it take for a baby to get used to it?
How long do you give a new milk before deciding if it suits or not?
Of course I know I have to give it longer than 2 bottles, but what..a few days, a week, 2?
Is anyone elses LO on this milk, if so how long did it take for yours to get used to it?
Thanks :hugs:

Any new milk should be given at least 2 weeks.

Nutrimigen is the least likely formula to cause any issue... its totally hypoallergenic.

What kind of problems are you having with your baby?

here you go hun, read this....

Any one shed any light?

I couldnt bear to see him crying in pain any longer so took desperate measures myself

Its his first full day on the milk today and as I mentioned in the link above its the 'other day' and as I predicted hes grumpy and unsettled today, although I must admit he's not as bad as he usually is. He has cat napped a few times already.

It also coincides with him emptying his bowels, could be just a coincidence but he seems to off days every other day and these days he poops...weird.

Wonder if it ain't reflux hun, and he's badly constipated/something up with bowels..... uhm woman i know says her bubs (few weeks old) is an absolute nightmare until he goes to toilet, then a dream. she also tried thicker milk and colief but has stopped them. Also the sick could be him going toilet - if Layla strains or pushes - it makes her sick. He seem to have a job going/pushing or...?

Jasmine had reflux really bad... still does... I put her on enfamil with lower iron, which helped alot and she had no more then 4oz every couple of hours for a very long time. I also started rice cereal at 3 months before bed which helped a ton... I also had an elevation wedge for her head while she was sleeping...

We never used gavison, mainly because my doc wouldnt prescribe anything, which I was really pissed about.

Noah's milk was changed by hospital & GP it roughly took him between 2-3 weeks before it settled xx

No Sammie..he has no probs going potty! lol! Its like dioreah (sp) and he is every other day like clockwork at the mo.......for eg, he pooped this morning and has been irritable/gassy/grouchy/sick all day today, hes finally ready for a long sleep just now I think.:hugs:

Damn doc wont give me a prescription for it. I have to wait till I see the paed in a week and see if she will write me a letter for doc to prescribe it...cant see it though she recommended sma staydown but its not the being sick thats the problem is the cramps/wind/pain hes getting.

my son has the exact same problems as yours jaqui and they are both called leo lol. hes now on nutramigen with a lactose intolerance diagnosis

Hello there my 5 month old daughter has been put on it for medical reasons. The first bottle she hated but now loves it and its working wonders. You will notice the difference in a couple of days. Hope it works for you.

Hi, we have that on prescription npw and it's like having a different baby. I really was toiling with the not sleeping and constant screaming. Poor wee mite was feeling terrible for 7 weeks. Within a day of being on the Nutramigen she was better. Every day she is improving so stick with it. Apparently it can take a lactose intollerant baby 5 weeks to let the stomach lining heal so they may still show symptoms for that duration. Good luck, really hope it works for you
