hopeful and leikela, your lo's are lovely :)

leikela, does ur baby have jaundice? that can make them hard to wake.

Thanks lindblum! My baby did have jaundice but has since cleared up. She hasn't had another episode like that, thank God! I think she wasn't feeling well at the time.

Leikela- hmm, well did you try to wake babe during the deep sleep stage? It's normal for them not to rouse during that deep sleep. During the first two sleep stages you should be able to wake but the other two not so much. But the good news is they don't spend long in those sleep stages.

Hope that helps, my dd has moments where she is non responsive. Just make sure they are a good temp, colour and breathing regular.

Hi Hopeful! It probably was the very deep stage, now that I think about it. I read the website. I actually read the whole website! LOL Thanks so much for posting it!

On another topic, from reading the website, I now realize that she cannot fall asleep on her own. She needs to be cuddled on my chest or my husband's chest, rocked, or sucking to fall asleep. Otherwise she just cries and won't sleep in her co-sleeper. So we have learned to lull her to sleep and when she is in deep, to put her in the co-sleeper and she will sleep. Thanks again for the great website!

Took me long enough to find the new parenting thread :dohh:
Forgot to put Natalie's weight for the front page, (8lbs. 1oz).
As for our little family...we are doing well and the older girls have adjusted well to the new princess. Natalie has gained over a pound from her initial loss but has her first cold. Not sure how she's managed to gain so much as she only bf's for about 10 min. at a time every 2-3 hrs.
Ah well....shall not complain!!!
Hope everyone is doing well and what the heck do we get our lo's for xmas???
Anyone have any thoughts?

Since she really won't know the difference and I already have a playmat, maybe just a Teether or crib soother. I'll get her some clothes. She and her bother have matching pjs to open on Xmas eve to wear. So cute :)
We have so much already since she is my second child. I don't believe in wasting money I don't have to, she'll notice more next year and we will spoil her more then :)

Snap! We've got her one toy (that was on offer) this.
I like the matching PJs idea!

I'm not getting a lot for Caoimhe for Christmas this year. She's so small and doesn't really need anything. We've gotten everything she needs for now already and my sister has loads of toys from her kids to pass on to me and they're all like new so I don't see the point in wasting money that we don't have either.
We had bought a mini rocking horse back when we found out I was pregnant and that's put away for Christmas and we will probably get some teething toys or something like that.

That puppy is a great toy! I bought one for my niece a few years ago. The Shop-rite here has it on sale this week for $8! We probably are going to get my daughter some clothes and that is about it. My family will shower her with gifts, I am sure. We have so much stuff already and people keep giving us gifts when they stop by to visit so we are overwhelmed with stuff. LOL

how's everyone doing?

Poppy has just hit one month. We are co-sleeping and she sleeps well at night but during the day she wakes up frequently only to fall asleep as soon as I pick her up. She's not as gassy as before and pooing loads more now. Her smiles are still random, can't wait until they are responsive :D She fits very well in 0-3 months now, pretty good considering she was a tiny 2.8kg at birth.

photos; 1/2 day old, 1 month old and a smile :)

awww lovely!

We're doing ok. Had 6 week check - Cassie's now 12lb6oz! According to the GP she's a great advert for breastfed babies :cloud9: She's a bit refluxy so we're trying gaviscon, it's a pain to get into her but seems to be helping.

2 days and 6 weeks later

She's adorable, they change so quickly. Cassie's babygrows are so cute!

btw, have you noticed any hairloss for her? my baby's hairline has receded so much so that she looks like a monk!

enjoying the pink floweriness!
No hairloss here, not even rubbing off the hair at the back, DS kept most of his baby hair too. I make large, hairy babies  Cassie still has hair on her back and ears!!!

lindblum, beautiful pics! I love the smiley pic! My baby is one month old too and smiles randomly as well. I cannot wait until it is responsive either! :)

fifi, my baby is hairy too. She was born with a full head of hair and still has it. She has hair on her shoulders and arms and even on her butt. LOL

All mine were furry when they were born too (back and upper arms). I remember after my second was born and the midwife was examining her with the student mw and explaining things and what to check for. I heard her tell the student that it's common for asian babies to be hairy at birth. Charming

Hi all, Zach is 2 months now and was weighing just short of 11lbs on Friday :) he's going for his first jabs today :(

We've made the transition from co-sleeping to cot which is fab! Just need to work on getting him to bed earlier!!

glad you are all doing well :)

Cute baby pics ladies :) omg they are all growing so fast. So is my Ella but no time for computer and uploading pics. They gotta fix this so you can post them with your phone. Would make my life a lot easier.

I agree!! It would make it so much easier to share pics haha :)

I always use my phone or iPad! Just upload it on the photobucket app and use the link!!

I always upload to photobucket from my phone but didn't know I could get the link on my phone too. Must give it a go :)
