Good luck makemeamammy and wilsey
Well, I can tell you for certain that you can walk around at 4 cm for weeks lol. I did. And each labor I've had my labor literally stop dead at 6 cm. At that point we were committed to having a baby and going home didn't seem like the best idea, so doctor jumped started me both times. But how does active labor just stop? Just like that? First time breaking my water worked. The second time, they broke my water and I walked around and nothing happened, then they stuck me on the drip. My kids were always in a hurry to get here and started early, but when it was time be committed to labor they wanted to change their minds!
I didn't realise you could just stop at 6cm. I've seen people fail to progress and end up going to theatre, but not labour just halting. The first c-section I ever watched was a lady who failed to progress further than 4cm after being induced.
I've just phoned the midwife and they are going to get someone to phone me back as I have had a head ache since tuesday. I've had no other symptoms but thought best to play it safe.

I read that labour can stall if baby is not in an optimal position for birth, and that it can happen around 4-6cm.
I stalled at 5cm and had my first labour augmented, and this is what my doula thinks may have happened, as my baby was laying with her back to my right, facing my left, which is not the most optimal of positions. I believe my son is in the same position now! If it happens again this time, I plan on doing lots birth ball stuff to help encourage things to move on rather then accept induction right away.

Hopefully it's nothing, GL and keep us posted.

The doctor never mentioned either time that baby was in a bad position..I assume she would have told me if baby came out any way other than face down? I had a ton of back labor with both kids, which I've heard can mean baby is "sunny side up" but no one ever said anything once birth was over if they were.
