off to the drs

for probably one of the first time or if not first, the first for many years I am going to ask for a sick note, I have not felt this drained, sick and totally exhausted ever I dont think, I drove the wrong way to work yesterday even though i have been driving the same route for 13 years no idea how or why I ended up where I did! I dont know why I dont seem to be able to manage this time, i think i could cope with the tiredeness but its the nausea that is wearing me down, it wakes me all night long, it is there for probably 80 percent of the day and night, i never realised feeling constantly sick could be so awful, so I an hoping its a sympathetic dr and not a dragon one who says self cert then come back if your no better as my work thinks its self inflicted and I should just be able to manage, I know I am leagally allowed to be off but its not nice going back if they think I am just being lazy and im not I have very little time off !!!

OMG Jo, I dont know how Id be able to go into work right now, if I had to. Im stuck at home with 5 kids, which I guess is also quite hard when feeling this ill. How did it go at the dr? Were you able to at least get an rx for some meds to help? Did u get a note? How many weeks r u now?

I hope u feel better soon, I know, Im going through morning,noon, and night sickness from hell!!! I cant wait till 14 weeks!!!

i got a note thank goodness, im off till the 22nd and she said i can go back and get longer if needed after that, I will be 11 weeks then and hopefully it will be passing, she also said i had some protien in my wee but not sure what that means and also she gave me a prescription for the nausea but said only use it if i really have to but i least i have it as a back up and also she said she could defo feel my uterus above my pubic bone by at least an inch or so, but least i can rest while the kids are at school now, even though my eldest is off with period trouble and refusing to go to the dr even though i have explained she cant have 3 days off everymonth as her exams start this year!!!!!!!

That's great you can rest now! I find it kinda bothersome though, that you got an rx for nausia meds, but told to only take if really needed. Here, my dr says ya no prob, take up to 4 a day! Are they just not as cautious here?? Shoukld I worry? Or, is it cuz the drugs they have here arent available there, and it really is safe?

oh i dunoo thinks its because there have not been any actual tests on the drugs to prove they are totally safe even though there have also been no probs but must admit its made me not really want to use them although i might feel so much better. I am being silly i think and should just use them. They are prochlorperazine. While off work will try to do without them

Hiya, that's a pretty old drug so its probably fairly safe but yep in the uk we're pretty cautious with medication during pregnancy. Hope the rest helps hon, it worked for me. I was off between 9.5 and 12 weeks and felt better even after a couple of days of chilling at home. Much better now but the tearfulness remains probably due to the job i have! Mine is called Diclectin. I used it for my last 2 pg's also, and they are ok,.. so far Well, I can't wait till we're all well into our 2nd tri, and feeling better!!

Oh and dont feel bad about driving to the wrong place, today I went to take my pill, I opened the bottle of iced tea and poured it into my hand,.. instead of pouring a pill in my hand
