Oily Substance in Urine!!NORMAL????

Hey Ladies,


Really need some answers here... Im not sure what is normal or not and will likely call my OB tomorrow just to see what she thinks, but would like some piece of mind if possible before that. For the past few days I have noticed what looks like oily patches in my urine- usually white and jsut stay on top. I have no other sympotms, or pain. I am sure most pregnant women dont examine there pee (lol) but I noticed it and now I am worried that it could mean something is wrong. Has anyone else had this anytime during pregnancy and it was nothing??

Sorry for reading and running! I read the title, thought I had an idea what you mean but then your post mentioned White particles settling on top and that hasn't happened to me personally. I've had protein before, tiny White particles gloating about but not settling on top. Also had an oily appearance seen in the toilet but again no White accompanying it.

Have your urine tests always been ok when dipped? If you have other symptoms the chances are it is something such as a uti, otherwise I'm sure it's fine and you doc will be able to explain xxx

I have gotten urine samples at every visit and nothing was ever said to me so I am assumuing that its ok. Plus it not really white particles so much as a whitish oil film that floats on top. Its not a lot but its noticeable and I m not having any other symptoms.

Could it be cervical mucus? Some women get a huge amount when preggers.

I also was wondering if maybe it was just coming from outside your body and not actually a substance from inside your bladder? If you've been dipped and you have no symptoms of anything being wrong that's likely what it could be.

Just give your doc a quick ring and explain, save yourself the worry.

Are you using any creams or anything? Thrush cream is a bit oily, could it be that?

Called my OB today and she thinks its coming from my prenatal vitiman. Because I am taking a DHA- ( which is a type of gel pill plus to vitiaman.) She said if I am not having any other symptoms then not to worry. Thanks for your help!
