OK Girls.... i would REALLY like opinions on this please as im really not sure`

well the thing is ive always said im going to use the middle name "Rose" as a family tribute
But the problem is the only girls name we agree on and starting to fall in love with is "Ruby" so the name would be

Ruby Rose..... Ruby rose Waddington`

and im not sure if thats a bit too much or people think its silly
as i dont want to give her a name that she will one day think is silly or "too much" if you know wat i mean`and one day say to me "mum wat were you thinking!" lol

So i would like HONEST opinions-suggestions on this name combination please and let me know wat YOU think!

id be so gratful as iv posted it on other sites but had no luck and really would appreciate more peoples views on this!
(as i know some people think its a bit "over the top" so please add your opinion)

or if you have some other suggestion im all ears for that too but please say what you think of this combo first! thanks

Thanks alot ladies :)
love gem xxxxx

I think it's dear. Here in the states, it would be considered somewhat Southern...and I'm a southern girl, so I like it very much. They are both nice, good, strong, older names and I think, compliment each other very well both together, and with your surname.

When we picked our little one's name, I yelled it out the back door, or said it out loud as if I was "calling her inside" and I can so hear someone yelling, "Ruby Rose, time for supper!!!"

do you ladies think she would also like it when she older tho!!

how would you feel if it was your name :S

xxxx

I think Rose is a very pretty middle name, kinda common, and goes with almost any name! No one will tease it, and i'm sure your daughter will like it when she is older. It's classic.

Ruby is a name i adore... so cute!

As for the combination "Ruby Rose" - i love it! I think it sounds so pretty together! I don't think it's "too much" & i think it's a name she will like at any age! And with your last name... it sounds very regal!

Ruby Roase is beautiful and in a conversation with my little sis the other day she told me this was her chosen name for when/if she ever has a daughter....a warning to me I guess that those names were 'off limits' lol!

I love it hon.

It's lovely, just remember no matter what you call you baby here will always be a day when they turn round and say "what were you thinking!" lol

I did the same thing with my baby names! I just remember hearing some aweful names shouted out round the neighourhood and didnt want mine to be one of them! I think its a very pretty name!::thumbup:

I also like both Ruby and Rose but I do think they sound a bit odd together. It sounds almost like red rose, just a bit overromanticised for me. I also think the two Rs don't really flow well (maybe because they're both two sillables?) and are just a bit much. But how about adding another name to break them up?

Ruby Elisabeth Rose
Ruby Elisa Rose
Ruby Helene Rose
Ruby Maria Rose

I do like it. I agree it sounds quite southern.
I like Rose as a middle name. My nieces, who are now a month old, are called Freya Rose and Ava Lilly.

can any one tell me what "Southern" means`
as in ruby rose being a southern style of name as im from the uk and not familiar with this term`:)

thanks girls xxxxxx
