OK, so I've looked through every internet site there must be and still can't find the perfect name! :hissy: We have our boy's names but are stuck for a girl. We both want a good old-fashioned name although nothing that will make people automatically think '90 year-old lady'. We like names like Emily, Emma, Abigail, Lucy, Katie which we think will suit a little girl, an adult and an older lady. I've looked and looked and although we have a few, none of them is 'the one'. Any ideas for names or good sites?

Georgina, Georgia, Susanna, Lucinda, Amelia...

I found this website, don't know if there'll be your "one" there :) https://www.ourbabynames.co.uk/englishgirls.php?pg=1

My favorites are Hazel, Violet Ruby, Rose and Lilly.

haha, just noticed in reading the list, it is all colors and flowers.

Thanks girls, some nice ones in there. We like flower names too - seem to be making a comeback.

My 3 nieces all have quite traditional names:

Florence / Flo
Molly
Alice

When narrowing down my list i liked Tilly, Daisy, Maisy and Poppy

I do quite like Florence but my OH hates it! We both quite like Poppy as well as several others. Perhaps it will just hit us when he/she is born?

I have been thinking the same thing too,I feel like I may be having a girl this time and we like Emily Grace.
I also like Ruby,Amelia,Sofia Rose, and Gracie.

I can't seem to make my mind up on girls.
Boys I always find easier somehow.

Btw,Katie is a lovely name :)

Rose, Francis, Doris, Joyce, Natalie, Pamela

I always really loved Imogen, but sadly DH doesn't....

Hi! For old-fashioned names, I've always liked:

Amelie
Grace
Ruby
Olivia
Rebecca
Isabella
Emma
Lucy
Evie
Caitlin
Sara/h
Josephine
Florence
Angela/Angelique

Good luck on your name-picking! You're right, sometimes the right names doesn't hit you until you actually see your baby and hold her in your arms :)

Hello,

How about Katharine, Eleanor, Ruby, Cant think of anymore.

Both of my Grandmas are Margrets... It is so versitile as both go by differend nams.
Margrette - Maggie, Peggy, Marg.... I can see how their names probably changed throught the stages of their lives

There are so many pretty names in there and a few more to add to my list -thanks. None are 'the one' but it's nice to have more to think about and think of similar names. OH will be thrilled to play 'Baby Names' again when he arrives home from work tonight - what a treat he has in store for him.

Oh Hazel is a great name....

I love more old fashioned names too. My dd (4) is Amelia Grace and this one will be Matilda Rose
