Hiya everyone,

I am currently on maternity leave and my husband is self employed (has been for about 8 months) and has had no work on for about 7 weeks now, can we claim anything? xx

Most benefits are annualised, so it would be what you've both earned in a tax year that counts. Is his business still going just not bringing any money in? If so he won't be able to claim job seekers... might be worth going to the citizens advice or job centre to ask.

phone the tax credits they might put ur payments up a bit also if ur in a council home tell them they can bring ur rent and c tax down. phone job centre plus they can do it over the phone ask u some questions about income then by the end they will tell u if u can put in for anything also the gov web site has a benefit calculator on it u maybe get in come support good luck xx

have a wee look at these xx
