One and Done?

I had my first at 30 and felt it was too early. I had such a fun life with my husband and a promising carrier. I had a wonderful pregnancy but it hit me hard when my first arrived and I had to give up my carrier for a while, my beautiful figure was ruined and I had to spend 24/7 looking after someone, cooking and cleaning. However I loved my child to bits. Only after 4 years I felt that I may want another one but still had doubts. I got pregnant when my first was 7.5 and although I know how much it will cost me in terms of school fees and everything else I am happy I am going to have at least one more. So never say never:)
However I totally understand wanting to have only one. I think everyone with more than 2 should get a medal:).

I'm with the OP. I am seriously considering just one child though it's not set in stone and am fully aware that I may change my mind in the future.

My main reasons for this are that I know that while DH could easily provide for more then 1 child, we could give just 1 everything they could need and more. My salary going back to work full time would pay for private school for one child but not 2, we could afford to take 1 child on the luxury holidays that we like to go on, and one child will get every bit of our love and attention instead of having to share it with others. Oh, and it's means the 4th bedroom that we converted into my walk in wardrobe/dressing room would have to be given up! Ok, maybe that one isn't quite so serious but I do love my dressing room!! Lol!

It's quite possible that we have this LO and in year or 2 want another, so I'm not going to say never, but I can definitely see the advantages of having just one!

Very similar to me! I was 28 with DS, but went back to work. I struggled for 5 years trying to balance work and life. I had a great career, but now I am a SAHM. I wasn't ready for #2 until recently. There will be 9 years between them and I finally feel like our family will be complete.
