One Born Every Minute is back

going home empty handed?? she should be thankful its still in her belly!

is she overdue? she doesnt look that big

Exactly what I was thinking! She's annoying me :haha: does anyone know how far along she is?

And that's why internals shouldn't be done. God I remember that awful feeling.

I thought the internal was the most painful thing I have ever experienced - I cried after that and smiled after the actual birth!

hes very 'hands on'

how sweet!

shes got a what on the phone? a no-one?

was Nancy complaining the phone was ringing? its her job to answer it!lol.xx

How funny is that wee midwife?!
'oooh I can't 'andle any more on 'ere' :haha:

I dont think I had an internal..I know the MW checked me 'up there' but it wasnt painfull (unless I just have a bucket!!)

whats the internal?

haha.. I dont think she did that to me.. then again thinking about it I remember asking me to get some G&A into me when she did the check.. maybe her hands were small! lol

If MW checked 'up there', then you had an internal. They just stick a hand in and have a poke around, feel how dilated etc.

You don't need a bucket for it not to hurt, some women have a more sensitive cervix than others.

can you say no to an internal

You can say no to anything you like, it's YOUR birth not the mws' or doctors'.

They put a bloody lot up there which is agony in itself and then wait there for a contraction, god only knows why, sadism I think. I'm going to use a combination of external signs to check dilation.

Whole hand up to the elbow!!
Absolutely horrific - I was 8cm by the time I got to hospital so maybe it's more painful if your more dilated?
I've got a half decent pain threshold but that was agony :(
Never knew you could say no to it??
