I had my 20 week ultrasound today. I was told I need to go for an additional ultrasound at the hospital in 4 weeks because one of the baby's kidneys was lower than the other. I was told not to worry because you only need one kidney. However, this made me concerned. Has anyone experienced this? What was the end result?

Oh 4 weeks is such a long time to worry... sorry you have to wait for so long.
I have no personal experience but a friend of mine has a kid who was born with one kidney. They could see it in the scans and did all sorts of tests to make sure it's an isolated anomaly, but the boy is healthy.

Thank you for your reply. Honestly, I'm trying not to think about it and secretly hoping the it looks normal next visit. I have other kids at home, so preparing and trying to make holidays special for them is a distraction from the wait.

Thanks again for sharing.
