We've been thinking names for a long while, I'm 39 weeks 1 day today. We've come up with one first and middle name and are very happy with it. But I've heard so many stories where the baby is born and the parents look at baby and say, "he doesn't look like a so and so". I'm worried that bubs won't "look" like his name and we don't have a back up!!! Am I nuts?

I only ever had one name for my daughter, I've never understood the "oh he/she looks like a ..." but that could mean my daughter just looked like a grace so it was never a issue. If it's a name you love then go for it. X

It's funny because I don't LOVE the name, but it just feels right. It fits with our family, fits with what it means, and just feels like a good fit. We do have a girls name that I LOVE, but we're having a boy! Isn't that always the way!

I hope, and I'm sure, it'll all work itself out. I just don't want to be stuck thinking of something on the fly if his name really doesn't suit him.

I wouldn't worry so much about it! Even if you don't officially have two names planned -- if the name doesn't fit him -- you will know. And in that case, i'm sure the right name (one of the others you've contemplated in your head) will just surface. That was my experience.

I was 100% sure of my son's name & then all of a sudden the night before, a different name kept popping in my head & just felt right. The next day, when i went in for my c-section, i just knew the other name was the perfect fit -- and it was!

Just wait til he's born -- you'll know his name when you look at him!
