Hi everyone,

I'm in love with the name Archie, but not so much Archibald, so I've started to consider Archer, trouble is our surname is 'Homer'.

Do you think Archer Homer sounds a bit funny because of the two 'Er' sounds at the end of the name?

I was planning on having a middle name too, not sure what though, but something strong like 'George'

Let me know what you think, be as brutal as you like! X

I too love archie but not so much archer, especially with the surname homer.. you could just go for archie? i think the two 'er' sounds are a little too much!

also lovee the name george it is one of my favourites!!

I think Archie would go better than Archer, plus I like Archie better anyway :)
Very cute name!

I like Archer better than Archie, but that's just me! Maybe a monosyllabic middle name would work well, like "Archer Lee Homer?" I like the sound of that!

I think Archie Homer sounds adorable! I'm not so sure about Archer, soz!

I love the name Archie, but my OH wouldn't let me have it :(

I like Archer, and I don't find Archer Homer strange at all. But I do like the idea of the simple middle name like Lee or James to go with it.

Not a fan of Archer Homer for the reason you mention: the double -er ending.

Think it's worth mentioning that whatever middle name does break it up but in 'real life' he won't be known as this!

I like Archie but would steer clear of it personally:
(1) It's not a name that 'grows up' to my hears
(2) It's becoming very, very popular.

PS. I like George better than Archie. George Homer. Great name. What about naming him George Archer Homer. Call him Archie. And later in life he'd have a choice of what to be called. Just an idea... Or you could go with George Archibald Homer (which I like better, actually...I think we can get away with 'special' rare names as middle names!)

I love Archer! I've never heard it before but I think it's great :)

I love both Archie and Archer but Archie sounds better with the last name Homer.
