my mum mentioned a name to me today for a little girl and ive fallen in love with it. it goes really well with the middle names ive chosen.
OH isnt too keen on it though.
so if after opinions on the name have been given could you give little hints and tips on how to maybge persuade OH into at least letting it be an option.

the name is (drum roll)..............Patience.

so her full name would be Patience Sophia Mary.

and the only reason OH doesnt like it is because 1. if shes winding him up he would feel weird saying Patience you are really testing my patience right now and 2. telling Patience that she needs to have some patience or learn to be patient. they are the only reasons and im trying to find a way to make OH like the name as i am going through a phase of really liking the name (knowing me high chance i will find another name i go through a phase with lol).

opinions and advice will be highly appreciated thank you. xx:flower:

Maybe by giving her the name she will already have the qualities :flower:

I like it and you can shorten it to some lovely nicknames too.

im not to sure but the more i say it in my head it is growing on me :haha:

I really like it! I wouldn't like people call her PAT though

I was thinking of Pacy when I said it, I think it sounds really sweet for a little girl. But I like the full name too.

ooooo yes!! i love this NN!!! yay. and i finally got OH to agree to it this morning so yay!

I like it, its unique
this is the very reason why i like it. its not used very often if at all in the UK anymore so i know she will be one of a kind. xx

I think it takes a moment to absorb the name -- and then people will like it! Especially once it's associated w your sweet baby girl! I think you will get alot of compliments on it! It gets so boring hearing the same names over and over again! Patience is pretty & unique, without being weird...

I come across it quite a lot in London. In fact the second midwife I had during my labour was called Patience. I work in a large London hospital and have come across plenty of patients called Patience! It's a common name amongst ladies from southern African countries.

i like it hun! we've been ttc for 15 months no luck yet tho and have contemplated that name a number of times xxx

good thing im not in london then lol, definately not a very popular name here, my friend at the registry office said that in her 10 years there shes never had anyone register the name Patience.
all i basically want is her growing up with a more unique name that no one else will consider and i know around here no one will as to put it politely they have very popular or chavvy choices of names and also to them (as ive asked friends) they say it sounds too old fashioned for them and they like names in the here and now. within a year ive had 17 friends or aqaintances name their daughters lily-May so very popular indeedy, lily albeit a very pretty name is way too popular here for me.
its just to me make it easier for a chiuld to grow up their own person, with their own personality and style.
but thanks for the info, whilst shes growing up i will steer clear of london lol. but then when shes older she can make her own choices in life. xx
