+OPK and neg HPT 23 day of cycle? Confused!

So today I took an hpt because we are going out with friends tonight. It was negative. So I did an opk out of curiosity and its positive! I have fairly regular cycles 28-29 days. What's going on?? I have a pic but can't get it to upload from my phone I did opk around day 14 and got what I thought was a positive. Idk what's going on. Any advice ladies!

I'm also having ewcm and my cervix is really low and really firm

Either ur gearing up to ovulate but I don't think that's the case as its a bit late. Or your gearing up for AF, your body produces LH in the run up and this could be the reason for ur opk! Hope that's useful xx

Thanks, is the estrogen surge a normal thing around day 23??
