Opk help please.

Okay. The main question is, can a faint line on an Opk mean you already ovulated?

My cycle is generally from 28-32 days. This is our first month ttc.

When the month started, I broke my phone- and I was using an app on my phone to track my cycles, so I lost all that information. I decided to just "wing it" and I was guessing I would ovulate around CD 15.

Well, a day or two ago, my DH fixed my phone and I got access to that information again, and according to that, I've generally had a 32 day cycle lately (about since April), rather than a 28 day cycle. This would have me ovulating on CD 19 (today) if the trend continues (although I do realize that not all women ovulate right in the middle of the month).
I've not really had any telling EWCM lately, I had more a few days ago, or any signs to let me know if I'm ovulating today or already did ovulate.

We've been having sex non-stop for the past few days and I'm worried I'm depleting DH's count. Also, it's beginning to take the fun out of it and I figured if I'm no longer ovulating, then we won't BD tonight and it'll give DH's :spermy: a break.

I went to the store about 30 minutes ago and bought an Opk. I got a faint line. Does this likely mean that I already ovulated if it's not positive, or could I currently be ovulating?

Sorry for the novel, I just wanted to give you guys all the info. If we're out this month, I'm going to start temping. :)

The only way to know is keep taking the OPKS to see if the line gets darker. From what I read we always have some LH in our system, just not always enough for a OPK to pick it up. If you have been DTD daily, skipping a day won't hurt to let DH swimmers get their strength up. On the Sperm meets egg plan they have you DTD every other day, until a +OPK then daily for 3 days, skip a day then one more time on the 5th day. Sperm can live in fertile mucous for up to 5 days, so you should be ok skipping a day. Just keep taking the OPKs to see if they are getting darker.

On my OPKs I usually get stark white until a feew days before O then they get darker the day after O they are usually stark white, but everyone is different. Last month a few days before the witch showed I took an OPK and had a faint line,it wasn't a +OPK but just an example that LH can be in your system at anytime.

Thanks for the response! That's exactly what I wanted to know- you said you were stark white a few days before O and darker til O, then stark white again the day after O. I would be interested to hear if other ladies are the same as you are or if any other ladies start getting fainter lines after O.

Either way, we decided to just skip today, we should be fine skipping ONE day. :)

When I use opk's I usually have some what of a line before o and then it gets darker until positive and after o I still have lines just not positive one's. So, basically I have a line all through out the month pretty much.

Thanks for the response, hun! Maybe that's what I do, too.

I also had a bit of creamy CM yesterday, which generally indicates my fertile period is ending/over, right?

If you want to know if you are ovulating or about to just keep using opk's. If they get lighter by tomorrow there is a good chance you might have just O'ed a few days ago. After I o'ed my opk would get lighter and lighter until the line was barely there.

I had a regular 28 day cycle. According to the instructions, I should have started using the kit on day 13 or something, but knowing I would have some left over, I decided to start on like day 9. I left room for myself to use two or three on one or two days, if that makes sense.

My line gradually got darker, and then one day it was MUCH darker than the control. I tested twice that day and twice the day after that, and it stayed dark. The next day the line was still dark, but slightly lighter than the previous days and from the control, so I was pretty sure my surge was over. I kept testing once a day for about 5 more days, and I always had a line, it was just never as dark as the control again.

So to answer in short, apparently I always had atleast some LH in my system, enough for it to register on my opk tests, during my last cycle - this is including the days AFTER my surge, confirmed with my BBT chart. They were BFN because the lines need to be as dark/darker than the control, but no, they never looked like a BFN HPT. There was always a slight line. HTH!

Thanks for the info ladies. I know that positive Opks detect your LH surge, which would be right before ovulation.
Say you test and you get a positive, so you know you're about to ovulate.
Then, say you test again while you are actually in the middle of ovulating. Would the test be positive or negative? Make sense?
To reword: If you are ovulating, does the test come out negative, because you're surge is over? Or would it still be positive?

Lots of good info in here, I'm probably going to test again tomorrow afternoon to see if the line gets darker or lighter- to let me know if I'm past ovulating or it's coming up. I'm pretty sure I'm either ovulating right now or I'm a day or 2 past it, though- don't think it's coming up.

What CD are you on? I ovulated on CD18 with a 30-31 day cycle with a 14 day LP. You may also have a short LP too so keep that in mind. If you have a 30 day cycle on average I doubt you ovulate on CD15. Do you have any fertile signs? Keep on testing and BDing!! xx
